I agree 100%... its pathetic that the wii is 4 months old and doesn't have online... We wii finally get online in June which is when Pokemon Battle Revolution comes out... (which I'm not going to buy so I'd be waiting longer). Now the 360 and PS3 came out at launch online ready.... This is why I have decided to sell my wii for a 360 and buy a new Wii (hopefully black) at the end of the year when there are decent games and online is up and running.

Yea the online for video game consoles is now starting to flare up look x360 even included a membership it seems the companies are more focused on online multiplayer than last generation of consoles right now the wii is really lacking in that feild and thats one of the only flaws that people can pick out so nintendo needs to pick it up with online quickly before the wii falls behind in sales.

I do agree that Nintendo needs online in order for this generation to be a good one for them. I'm pretty sure NIntendo is fully aware of that seeing how popular it is here in the states. I'm glad that they don't just rush it and give out a crappy service though. I'm confident that next year will be incredible for you online-lovers.

Halo didn't have online. It was popular. Online is not fun for all, particularly for those who don't dedicate themselves to a game, which whether you like it or not, that audience is going to be the majority on Wii.

Well I'm very pleased that at least this year will have three CONFIRMED games online. Bwii, SSBB, and Mario Strikers Charged. Next year we will see third party support. (I did not mention Pokemon just because I couldn't care less about that game.)

I agree with what your saying. As a Wii owner I enjoy Zelda: TP, Wario Ware and other games. Sometimes though I like to play online, it adds an importand value to video games, and that is replay-value. Really, who plays Halo for the xbox just for single player? If not for online I gaurntee Halo wouldn't be as sussessful as it is. Nintendo went last generation without online, now I think it's time Nintendo takes a step forward and bring us fans into online gaming. When I think of a perfect chance for Nintendo to move into online gaming I think of Metroid Prime Corruption. Sure single player is great in MP games but think of the replay-value of it if it has online. I'm not against Nintendo in anyway, infact i'm owner of all Nintendo systems. So yes I also think online for Wii is important, and soon we'll see it happen, for now i'll just wait.

Yes it is important, but all this talk is getting nowhere, we gotta strike where it make a difference. At the nintendo headquarters! Get some people to block their doors or something and have signs saying "We want good Online Play!" or maybe we can stuff up their email with our complaints. Or maybe we can hold some of the Wii's hostage. All this talk on forums and signing of imaginary electronic petitions doesn't seem to help much :(

Online is VERY important. Espessically today. Games like the Super Smash Bros series for instance NEED online because it would give the best experience ever! I hope they start making a lot of games online compatible.

Well yeah partially anyway. I think it's a good addition and adds lots of value but can take a backseat to storyline and clever implemation of the Wii remote.

Yah the Wii does need to focus on the Wiimote, its starting to feel like most games are using like the PS3 remote, as a gimmick...

It only needs 1 first person shooter to demonstrate how good it can be implemented and I hope that will be Metroid.

It could be and if it is then thats great, the sooner the better you know? But GS has already said some of the controls need "Tightening up" so this could mean they will easily be ironed out or they will seriously hinder gameplay.

I both agree and disagree. I agree because I recognize that having online playability is where gaming is headed, and has been headed (at least with console gaming) since the Dreamcast. Still, I would much rather have a solid single-player experience. That's not to say online gaming isn't fun, but it's not important to me.

Yeah thats where online is handy. It gives replay value, and yes some people argue that you can just play multiplayer with friends but friends can't come over every day.

I dont care what fanboys of Nintendo say, who have never played an online game say, the Wii needs online. Online adds depth to games, and replay value. Online is one of the best things to happen to games, last gen systems had online and yet the Wii doesnt...yet. For me next gen is a new gameplay experience, and the Wii delivers on that with the Wiimote, but it doesnt have online. If it wasnt for online Halo 2 wouldnt be popular and neither would Gears of War, it can make or break a game. So stop saying online is stupid, and all the people are pedophiles and scream NOOB!!111 OMGZ!!11 They dont sound like that....soulfood4

Actually they do say things like that.

What? Are you kidding me, a bonus? So if Halo 2 didnt have online it would still be as good as they are saying it is? It adds replay value, Gears i beat in 2 days, and i've owned it since Nov. so your telling me i'd still be playing that game if it didnt have online? Okay..., i've been playing online ONLY since i beat the game...

I just hope that if its taking this long to get online games with the Wii then Nintendo must be working really hard on it cus the longer all of us wait then the more excited we are going to get and if Nintendo screw online up in the months to come then we are gonna be twice as dissapointed!. I have to say ONLINE is Extremely Important but It totally kills locational style . Take for example Super smash. only 5 percent of Smash players play pro. Everybody else don't even know about  wavedashing. Waveshining , L- cancelling   ETC. When a game like smash goes online everybody will learn these moves and people will copy styles of each other which is lame. So online is beneficial and hurtful at the same time.

I'm not talking about cheaters...I'm talking about people's playing styel -_-" Let me give you an example THIS Is Zelgadis, a pro Fox player. He invented the styel he plays with, now if smash went online EVERBODY would be trying to copy his styel and thats really lame. That happened to Halo when it went online. That video is real time just FYI :P

If Halo 2 didn't have online, matter fact if Halo 1 didn't have online, it would of been a medicore game and no one would care as much, real talk. I'm not assuming anything about GoW havin no online you would still be playin.

Stop clowinin and understand what I said.

Online is okay... I'm not too bothered with it.

". So stop saying all the people [online] scream NOOB!!111 OMGZ!!11 They dont sound like that.... "

Well, in my experience they do. Maybe you're not talking about Xbox live though. But then EVERYONE wants the Wii's online to be like Xbox Live so I'm sure if I do play online all I'll hear is "NOOB!!111 OMGZ!!11"... I just hope the Wii games don't end up sucking like Halo 2 because they only focus on the online... because then I'll stop playing.

So stop saying online is stupid, and all the people are pedophiles and scream NOOB!!111 OMGZ!!11 They dont sound like that....soulfood4

i agree.

oh and i was in the topic that your sig is from

This is irrelevant, but I think that your signature is absolutely hilarious.JayMatthews06

Irrelevant to what?! It's the first post! If you're referring to relevence toward the console wars, then I must say that I agree completely that online is important, because quite frankly, the Wii SUCKS at this point. Every game I've played feels like it's either an extended tech demo or a collection of minigames that are fun for 10 minute runs. I actually thought about getting several Wii games, but ultimately decided that there's no point to them; there's nothing to unlock, or if there is, there's no further replay value. I used to be 100% content with games like that, but ever since I discovered online, the whole concept of how to have fun with games has changed. The concept of actually competing with everyone else in the world to get a higher score than them, or if you're not into that, playing multiplayer anytime you want while talking to people all over the world literally feels like you're creating your own game experience with living, breathing people, as opposed to pre-programmed images that always act the same. The harsh reality is, while playing single-player games is still fun, it lacks depth if that's all there is to the experience. I used to be a huge Nintendo fan, but ever since the last part of the Gamecube's life, Nintendo seems to be living in the past. Yes, it's going out on it's own innovative tangent with all this touch screen crap, but that only goes so far before you realize that there's other people outside your own little world playing really good games without you.

Single Player is better. Before I had a Wii I had my 360 with gold and I still do.

Now, playing the same matches over and over with the same goals gets boring for me. I prefer SP, besides, Up to date news, web browser etc > online gaming.

Take GRAW for example, most matches are team elimination in "nowhere" after playing the same game type on the same map for ages it gets boring after a while. What about GEARS, thats just so limited that most matches are the same, just different map.
