online: wireless and/or wired?

i still dont kno whether to get the ps3 or wii,but i was wondering if the wii is like ps3 and can hook up online with just an internet cable? and if not,can i use my wifi usb connector that i use for my ds with the wii?

Yes you can use the same thing you use for the DS

At this point you're better off getting a router and just hooking up your consoles wirelessly

i would,and i even have a router,but my dads whole buisness is on the comp so hes too lazy to re0route everything and is worried itll get screwed up.

The only way to hook the Wii to the internet is wireless, it doesn't have an ethernet port.

Connecting wirelessly to the router from the Wii shouldn't mess up any of your dad's settings. You can use the DS connector, also, and I'm pretty sure I saw a LAN adapter you can get for about $20 or $25 somewhere on the internet. There's ya a few options ;)

A wireless router has wired ports, you can have the same exact setup you have now just with added wireless
