Ono: Street Fighter x Tekken on 3DS should happen

Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition producer Yoshinori Ono thinks that while the crossover fighting game Street Fighter x Tekken will come to the XBox 360 and Playstation 3, bringing it to the portable Nintendo 3DS would be a smart move.

"As far as fighting games are concerned, we've come a long way," Ono said. "It used to be that you had to go to an arcade machine, pay money and play it. Then it came to home console and you could play it in front of your TV. Now you can play Super Street Fighter IV anywhere if you've got a 3DS.

"I think that's an amazing thing. The next step would be to have Street Fighter x Tekken, which is the celebration of all top fighting gamers' dreams in one, to be on 3DS, where you can play anywhere you want.

"That's an ultimate idea. Personally speaking, it should happen. We should probably start making more noise about this. But officially, nothing has been considered yet."

Apparently he's not confirming it will happen, but it sounds like he would still like to make it happen.

I want see an actual Tekken game on the 3DS first. I don't care if it's a remake of a PSOne game (I'd love to see a full remake of Tekken 3 with ALL the characters).

Ah, this is great news! I love the fighting game genre, I'm glad the 3DS is getting some love from Ono.. Please make it happen! My 360 is RROD and unfortunately the Wii is generally ignored in this category. I haven't played on a console in a long while, just PC lately and now finally with the 3DS I can get back into it. :D

I don't know if you could do a tekkenXstreetfighter game in the Tekken style- Street Fighters without projectile attacks? It boggles the mind...El_Zo1212o
