Have you played Metroid Prime: Hunters? That is easily the worst.

Ridley did look weird. Very purple and a weird mouth. But he was fun to kill. Exploration is pretty dumbed down, and the story.. Don't really know if it's good or bad. Probably neither. But it's Metroid, and I love it. Maybe Nintendo, Intelligent Systems, Retro Studios and Team Ninja should team up for the next one?

Have people played Super Metroid before? Ridley looks almost identical in both. He is purple except for when hes meta ridley. And he gets more and more vibrant as you kill him, just like in SNES. I would love to see (Sakamoto is that his name?) and his crew team up with retro to make the next one. Or maybe just leave out team ninja and make a new metroid with a bit less dodging and such. Love Other M, but the dodging is not my favorite thing around. It can be used too often and its too easy.

Doesn't explain his weird... muppet mouth. :P He didn't have that in Super Metroid. His mouth was like.. too thin. Flappin around.

how do you know where to point it? you have to think at least a little

also getting the items you have to solve how to get them.

also how to kill the bosses you have to figure out

also in some parts of the game you reach a room and not qute sure how to advance..and you need to figure out that too.

Auto aim is a very good idea for a 3D shooter--especially with enemies coming from all sorts of different angles. It would be annoying trying to line up your shot without auto aim in this game. Of course if this were a 2D platforming shooter--like the old Metroids--then of course it's easier to line up your shots.

With the exception of being told when to use parts of your armory and Samus cowering to an old foe she faced so many times, the overall story was pretty good. I didn't want the story to end and I always looked forward to seeing how the plot unraveled. I can't wait until the next Metroid comes out (except if it's like Hunters).

U said it my friend! I would love to see the 3DS have a completely side scrolling metroid with nice 3D graphics. I love Other M's style, but I would like to see some changes made to it no doubt.

The mere thought of a Metroid 3DS makes me drool. It has to happen.

Well, as far as Ridley goes, if you read the manga she has the exact same reaction to him. Before she finally bucks up and wastes him. Yes, shes faced him many times. But think about it like this. If some guy broke into your house and killed your entire family as you watched as a child, then you grow up, get revenge, and kill the guy. But you kill him, and he comes back to life and goes after you again. You kill him again, he comes BACK to life again. No matter how hard you try, this bastard just won't stay dead. You'd be pretty freaked out too.

As for being told when to use her weapons. Adam ASKED her to agree to follow his orders. She obviously has a lot of respect for the guy (Just play Fusion) so she agreed. Granted, there are some oddities (Sorry Adam, I respect you, but if I'm about to die from heat damage I'm turning on my Varia) but I suspect this was just the best way to have suit upgrades fit with the story. It would be boring and very Un-Metroidish to get all your power ups from the start. And stumbling upon Chozo Artificats to power up your suit in the BOTTLE SHIP wouldn't make much sense.

Agreed. Other: M is great. I havn't even finished it and I already want more. I definately want more Other: M gameplay style Metroids on the Wii or its succesor. That being said, a 2D Metroid on the 3DS would be to die for. New Super Mario Brothers style. Lets put the 3D Metroids on the consoles, and the 2D ones on the hand helds.

They could've found a better excuse though. I'm mean what is the harm in using your grapple beam too early? lol. Here's what they should do next time. Let Samus keep all of her suit abilities, but as her mission progresses she will need even more powerful upgrades. Maybe there's a certain metal that even a power bomb can't penetrate and she needs to find an upgrade more powerful than that. Maybe Samus comes across enemies who need more than just a super missile to kill--perhaps an ultra missile. Maybe they can introduce an upgrade that extends the length of her grapple beam. You catch my drift?

Isn't that what they did in Prime 3. You had almost all your old powers and they just gave you new ones?

Actually no. You still had to find most of the upgrades.

That really makes no sense because someone would say why couldnt she have just started the game with the ultra missiles? Why didnt she start with the longer grapple beam. The same thing you are doing basically. The point of Metroid is to be alone and feel overwhelmedand isolated. Then gradually throughout the game become powerful enough that you dont have to feel that way anymore.

Well If Samus comes across a certain metal that she has never come across before, then maybe she would need something more powerful than what she has ever had before. Also there maybe certain enemies, that she has never come across, that may be impervious to any beam she's ever used. Thus she will need a new beam that we've never seen. The phazon beam was new when it was first introduced and fitted into the plot. You're not as unstoppable when you come across enemies and obstacles that your previous weapon won't effect.

Exactly. And it's all the better for it!
