Overated or underated games

What we think is unimportant, it's what you think that matters. I could say that game A is vastly over rated, and game S deserves a better score, while someone will completely disagree with all I have to say. That being said, I do have my favorites, but I don't see any game as being over/under-rated, it's just an opinion.Cesar_Barba

For the most part, I concur. Human nature suggests that we are all going to have different feelings toward a game. The hardest thing for any game to do is to appeal to everyone; in fact, it can't be done if you're being realistic about it. Because of this, someone is not going to find a popular game to be all that appealing and someone is going to find a game that most people dislike very enjoyable. And because there is always at least that one person that can say otherwise about something, the opinions of millions of people are still just opinions.

As Cesar_Barba put it, it's what you think about it that's really the key. Only you have the option to decide what games you play. Granted, you can always get an opinion on something from someone you trust, but even that isn't fool-proof by any stretch of the imagination. Trust your gaming experiences and your gut instinct to determine where a game really stands with you. :)

EXTREMELY overrated: Wii Sports,Wii Fit, Wii Play

Overrated: Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, etc.

Underrated: Okami, Zack & Wiki, Klonoa, Battalion Wars, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, etc.

There are more, but I'm too tired to list them all...

I think the whole FireEmblem series is way underated. Also I think Halo is way overated.Ollipin

-DeBlob: Gamerankings score=81.5% Should be=70.0%

-No More Heroes: Gamrankings score=83.1% Should be=55.0%

Underrated

-Samba De Amigo: Gamerankings score=68.5% Should be=85.0% (It was bashed for having controls that don't work. I however have "Perfect" ratings on many songs at the highest difficulty level, Super Hard, so they are obviously fine)

-Mario Kart Wii: Gamerankings score=81.8 Should be=90.0%

-Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Gamerankings score= 92.9 Should be=at least 95.0%

-Pikmin 2: Gamerankings score=89.1% Should be=100.0% (Best Game I've ever played!)

Underated: Skate It (with balance board)

Overated: Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn -- could have been cool in 1992

OK but still overated: Batalion Wars II, Super Mario Galaxy

Way Overated: All "on rail" games (i.e. RE:UC) -- theres really no point to games that force your movement. 2D scrollers are much more fun.

I am gonna say Mario Kart Wii is overatted. Nothin to different from Mario Kart Double Dash 12 player online is fantastic but apart from that nothing else

Overrated:None that I can think of at the moment

Underrated:Red Steel,Far Cry Vengeance,SoulCalibur Legends and Sonic and the Secret Rings.

Sonic and the Secret Rings, Samba De Amigo, and Death Jr: Root of Evil are all extremely underrated.

Barely anyone has even heard of Death Jr. and it's one of the most fun wii games ive played.

Overrated: Super Mario Galaxy, Brawl, Mario Kart

Underrated: Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Shin Nekketsu Series, Donkey Konga

Underrated: Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the new world - only a tad underrated by gamespot I thought. A TAD. (Like .5) I can't really think of any other games off the top of my head that I thought were underrated.Sam3231

I'd call ToS2 more than a tad underrated, myself. It was one of the first games in a long, long time during which I honestly can say that I genuinely cared about the main characters. When I accidentally got the bad ending in the game, I was half driven to suicide it was so ridiculously depressing. :P

Overrated-My Pokemon Ranch on WiiWare,it doesn't even deserve to be in the 40% zone on gamerankings.

Wii Fit:Fun,butI almost never play it anymore,I found myself using the balance board as a lunch tray more then a balance board.

Underrated:Star Wars Clonewars Lightsaber duels,short,but it is probably the funest multiplayer game on Wii.

Star Wars the force unleashed,deserves a higher score instead of the 70% zone,especially since the Wii version has a duel mode.

Those who prefer Melee do not care about how "good" Brawl is. They hate Brawl because it threw out everything that made Melee so great. Brawl is very anti-competitive.

Though, I prefer Brawl myself, as I never got into Melee's competitive scene. Brawl was actually my first time getting into competitive play in fighting games.

On topic:

Overrated: Not much here. I'd say SSBB is overrated, but I was very satisfied with it, apart from the incredibly laggy online.

Underrated: No More Heroes. What? I liked it a lot. And anyway, I don't think it's underrated by much. The game's 8 average score is perfect for it in my opinion.:P

Over - No More Heroes

Under - De Blob and Metroid Prime 3.

Overrated: World of Goo,No More Heroes & Boom Blox.

Underrated: Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon,Metal Slug Anthology,Prince of Persia: Rival Swords.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympics is under rated

Over rated is Rayman Raving Rabbids, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz.

No More Heroes. Perhaps a bit overrated. Stylish indeed yet lacking.

I dig SSBB, SMG, and Elebits. Elebits perhaps being significantly under-appreciated.

in no way is brawl an underrated game if anything its overrated, clearly brawl is better than melee whoever says it isn't is retarded the wii has much higher capabilities there for it is a canvas for better games, brawl is melee and then some

Under rated youve got titles like Zack and Wiki and Okami, which are shown as shear brilliance. i believe WarioLand is underrated, a magnificent game it is.

Overrated. NMH, CoD WaW, ST TFU (seriously, swinging the wii remote as a lightsaber is no better than swinging it for wii sports tennis)

To add to that list, I wish to add: Super Paper Mario, Dragon Quest Swords, Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Excite Truck, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and Wario Land: Shake It!

Excite truck is the Wii's most under rated game. I still play it a form time to time and love it. It is at least an 8.5 in my book

Overated... can't think of any at the moment. I have not played a game I did not like in a long time. I guess I am just lucky.
