I'm assuming you mean Paper Mario on the N64, and not the used-to-be tentatively titled Paper Mario for 3DS...?

uh no it's called sticker star now...

Anyways ttyd 1.It's funnier 2.Partner have have more in depth personalities 3.That battle system is improved 4.Graphics might not be prefect but they aged much better then pm 64 5.And i also enjoyed more of the chapters then pm 64 (pm64 chapter 1,chapter 4,7,and 8 being the only one i can stand ttyd it's ever chapter except for 2 and the area between chapter 6 and 7.)

Both are amazing games but there's really no competition. TTYD is the superior game in pretty much every way. I love both of them.

The first Paper Mario, easily, one of my favorite games ever. Better soundtrack, partners, locations, and I liked the boss battles a lot better.

Thousand Year Door is far better. I would buy a port of it (or a downloadable version) on the 3DS with some extra content thrown in. Though if they ever throw up Gamecube games on the WiiU Virtual Console, that would probably be a cheaper route and I don't know how the game's 2D art would look on the resolution of the 3DS screen.

from a technical and objective point of view, ttyd is clearly better. But some may prefer the first just because of the moments in it may be more impactful, memorable, or simply nostalgic to a person. Some moments I remember from the first is running around the tree in the desert camp place for the secret badge or something, finding the secret ruins, the secret chimney thing in the house in the ice/snow section of the game, and the ice/mirror castle place! Ttyd just didn't have as many moments that stuck with me, but I still probably enjoyed both equally.
