I would post this in the Paper Mario forum but it's not very busy, I already posted there before about another issue but never got a reply. Anyway, the VC version of Paper Mario always had framerate problems, way more than my N64 did, but this actually froze my Wii. I was against the Lava Pirahna boss, at LavaLavaIsland Volcano. It was already pretty low in the FPS department, but then I used Tidal Wave with Sushie, and while she was doing the move it moved to almost a slideshow, then it just froze, music still playing, I left it alone for about 2 minutes, tryed to use the home button, tryed shutting the Wii off through the Wii remote, nothing. So I finally held the button on the Wii down and shut it down for good. It still works, my saves are still there, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete this mission easily without Tidal Wave, I would rather not have my Wii freeze again... Suggestions? :(

Never happened to me, and I played the game all the way through without any problems. I don't know what to tell you other than to call Nintendo.

Have any of you noticed more framerate problems than appeared in the N64 version? That is, with the expansion pack?

Update, just beat him. I used Tidal Wave 3 times this time, each time it slowed down to a crawl when the water effect was still on screen + the damage indicators, right after they went away my FPS jumped to smooth as butter. Perhaps it was just the right amount of effects that froze it last time. Glad it didn't repeat itself. :)

That was my first thought too, as my computer used to do similar things. But the Wii was as cool as can be, plus it's cool out here, we keep it cool in the house too. I know it didn't overheat. Unless it's internal and I just can't feel it. But I fought him again right after it freezing and nothing happened. I will try to see if it ever happens again, and look for interesting leads. ;)
