some background info: i'm 15 years old, my dad has a vendetta against fps's (but loves games that make you thing (eg: zelda)) and my mom doesn't give a rat's left nut as long as my dad is ok with the game.

I want facts about the game regarding violence level, amount of puzzles, what ESRB means by "animated blood" in the game and examples of all 3.

I do not want the bullsnot i got last time I wrote a similar thread about buying the game myself, it being up to my parents (I figured that one out a while ago) or that my parents are (insert insult here).

the reason i started a new thread was because most of what I got was the horsepiss I mentioned above.

The violence level isn't really anything worse than twilight princess and there is so little blood that when you said there was some i was surprised.

It definately makes you think but it's mostly thinking about where to go next or some minor puzzles. It's mostly based on exploration.

I remember the last thread from like what, a year ago? You don't have to sound so rude about it. Anyway, there isn't any real blood in the game. I've played through the game twice and didn't see an ounce of blood.

I don't remeber too much about seeing animated blood in the game (i never even checked the rating :P), but as for puzzels, it's a really good game. It's more like a group of mini puzzles, instead of a few big puzzles. But it really is more of figuring out where to go when. And the violence level isn't that bad. It's about the same as TP. You kill an enemy, they fall, and then *poof*, they're gone.

to kingofcosmos: thanks for the info, but if you can add some examples of a puzzle that you found hard to figure out (without disclosing the solution) i might just have dad nailed.

to nintendoman: i apologize for being rude but the last thread was more damaging than helpful.

to everyone else: keep the info coming, at this rate i'll have dad convinced by christmas.

ps: i can't stress the importance of examples enough.

wow.. I did not even knew this was a mature game, I do not remember the blood. That said I do play a lot of violente crazy games...

anyway...

lets see..

Violence lvl: you have to shoot some monster like stuff. The violence is really mild and the the gore is zero. I would not say that is any different than zelda. Battle are really colorfull with a bunch of flashing. You can look some clips on youtube (they mayhave spoiler thus) type: metroid prime 3 battle and you`ll get the idea.

Animated blood means is not red... like the person above me mention, you kill some monster and you would get some greenish-alien-like stuff.

Puzzles: most of them are which weapon to use to pass this point, where to go according to the clues I have.. get X to pass this point (this are minority) and such.

I`m 28 yo female and I`m totally against kid playing violent games, but this one is quite nice. Kids 8yo, 12yo kids playing games like Silent Hill is just wrong, specially when they do not even have an adult explaining. 10 yo playing GTA, do not get me started. I would pry no agree with kids playing madworld either. You can say to your dad to read this :P Also you can try talk to your dad, say to rent teh game, look it with you and I`m sure he would not have anything against it.

Hope you get the game.

Enjoy gaming.

(btw: pls this is my opinion about ranting, kids and games, do not bash me. thx :) )

EDIT: I read your last post... lets see....

1. in one place you have to get something that is protected, to take it you have to solve the puzzle, which consist of using the right weapon. This would aloud you to continue to a puzzle aera based on that small one you just did. and of course 1st you have to find that where that puzzle is :P

2. in several places you have to activate "power" to open doors, or use switch.

3. you would get clues about how to do some stuff, but they then not to be straigh forward. So a lil thinking is in place :P

Also to get all the vouchers you would have to solve quite a few puzzle, do a LOT of exploring and be REALLY curious ;)

Hope that helps

If your dad lets you play Legend of Zelda, I think he'll definitely let you play this. Some people consider Metroid Prime 3 an "fps" but to me it isn't even close. It doesn't have multiple weapons (Ok, it has a main cannon, missles, and hyper mode weapons, but not much else), it's main goal isn't to kill everything you see, and overall the only thing that it has similiar to an fps is the way it controls, and even then it's not 100% similiar. I think of Metroid Prime 3 as more of an fpa (first person adventure). It's an adventure game at heart, played from 1st person view.

agree copletely...

and is a nice FPA, like he said no much different than zelda... (I also consider biioshock a FPA, which is quite mature)

I used to play mortal kombat, in my childhood :P

:P  no again,The older MK was a LOT more mild, exc for some fatalaty the game was really mild, see? and even some fatalities were almost silly, others had blood but it was in such a cartoonish way and others well others were "strong". the problem now is that when a game say mature is MATURE... the theme/topic/story is crazy, you have ppl comminting suicidedepending on how you play, psychological thrillers that are just crazy.. and so on :P

now.. about the last gen MK I have not clue never play them

One example of a puzzle if i remember is there were a ton of swithches that required a certain action to activate which in turn would activate a huge cannon. Although it seems easy it requires quick thinking since there were enemies shooting at you.

If it helps out at all i'm 13 and the game didn't seem violent to me at all.

I think what they mean by blood, is that when you die, it shows some blood on the "game over" screen.

It may be okay, personally, since I let my brother play 2 (but I try to make him go away when resident evil is playing) and he is only 12...

Btw, no offence, but you got a pretty bad mouth on you, I would have just said "the response I got last time wasn't what I wanted"...

My brother may be on here...if he starts using those short cuts mum and dad would kill him since they are so obvios, and I can't let that happen...try to be careful with what you say, if that's okay.

Zelda's more violent I think. I mean you slash them with the sword and then jump on them and stab them with one powerful thrust and they wriggle around in a sharp spike of pain until the pain fades and everything grows dark.

But in metroid, you shoot them and they explode.

Don't worry, Metroid Prime 3 is more than fine for a 15 year old to play. Like everyone else mentioned, it's no worse than Zelda, really.
