Just buy the WiiU version. The game is more suited for consoles. At least on consoles you can use a keyboard. May seem small but it's a huge deal for me. I'd say the 3DS version is relevant if you plan to buy it with a group of local friends and participate in sessions.
Adding online to the 3DS version will be amazing, but it will cause delays and angry Japanese fans. The Wii U version was made for those who want to play online.

Exactly. Giving us the 3DS version with online will be insulting to the Japanese fans, especially since they're the majority of the fans. Just because local multiplayer is popular over there doesn't mean they don't enjoy playing online. Re-releasing the same 3DS game but with online will be insulting as well because there's no way to transfer save data between 3DS cartridges. Re-releasing MH3G/U on the Wii U is not as insulting because it's on a home console (different experience), is in HD, and allows the player to use the same file at home or at the go.

Well boo hoo, who said life is fair. The option for online would probably help to sell the game quite a bit, at least it would up my interest.

They didn't raise a stink when the US got tri's online for free. I don't see why there would be any backlash.Well boo hoo, who said life is fair. Localization is a huge time consuming process and programming online to an already finished game will be too much work to satisfy the minority of fans. The Wii U version is getting online because it's still in development, and we should be grateful that they're localizing both versions.
