Ok, I have no clue what video format the Wii actually recognizes and I don't really care too much anymore; AND, I can understand the system program being selective in it's image and audio format recognition; HOWEVER, When I have a file titled Fish.jpg that is 1000x800 I don't understand why the manual says the program will recognize it but the program says it doesn't have a clue what format the image is in. What's going on with my PhotoChannel? It seems to only truly recognize maybe half of the *.jpg images I try to view on it? Is the program buggy or just plain broken?

I know! It also happens to me, it's VERY rare, but there ARE some .jpg that Photo Channel won't recognize! I have no idea why though!

Well, as I stated it isn't very rare for me unfortunately. It seriously is about 40-50% of my images not being recognized at all in any way shape or form.

Wow, I've never had the problem. I really couldn't begin to tell you what it is without taking wild guesses. Sorry

That particular photo probably has a bug in it or something, The same thing happened to me so i opened it in paintbrush and re-saved it as a jpeg. works fine now.

That can happen with jpeg, it's not necersly the Photo Channel problem. Jpeg can easily be corrupted because of it's compressing feature (can't find the right word). You best bet would be to use png, though I don't know if it's supported with the Wii. I don't have one... yet :-) Png file will be bigger than Jpeg, but  it won't be corrupted easily.

Ok, all the images as saved for my phone on my micro sd work, they're all 176x220 abouts and only like 30-100k... But, I also have this huge poster sized image that's like 2 megs that is showing up... I have no idea why so many other random pictures off my computer aren't working... I'll try to resave them as *.jpg and test them, or possibly resize them... It's quite bizzare indeed

I've experienced this same thing, I've sent about 10 pictures through email to my Wii, and nine showed up, the other one had a big "?" instead of the picture. JPG format. There wasn't anything special about it either, close to the same sizes of the others. Oh wells, it reads movies marvelously off of my SD Card, and playing them backwards is hilarious!

I may have found a solution I found some freeware batch image conversion and just converted jpg to jpg... ok, that's ridiculous but now all my images are in whatever uniform format the program puts them and they all show up on my Wii now... I'm not sure about linkages and all but what I'm using now is called Easy Graphic Converter 1.2 Fast, and very easy to use

I've tried e-mailing a few pictures to my Wii. I get the message, but no trace of any picture. I tried resizing, but same thing happens. Oh well, not like you can do anything with the picture other than make a puzzle.
