i'm going to buy a used Wii soon and I was wondering..

1. The former owner has bought lots of games for the virtual console. Can i buy more of them ?

2. does the controller for the virtual console have a wire?

3. is River city Ransom available in europe?

1) Yeah, and games get added every week.

2) As far as I know, the only wire connects to the Wii Remote. You can also use a Gamecube controller.

3) No idea

The games on the console are tied to your Nintendo europe account, Im not certain how this would affect a second hand console so it may be worth sticking with this thread until somebody can answer from experience. DO you know the person you are buying from?

I wouldn't buy one unless you also have a 360 or a ps3 because it just gets boring after a while and that way u can alternate between 2 systems.

You wont need their Username and Password to play the games or indeed download them. In fact, you can change the account the Wii is logged to by putting in your internet address in the Wii Shop channel. No password needed.

And River City Ransom isn't on the VC yet.

River City Ransom is in the European VC. It just named Street Gangs but it is River City Ransom. It was released 2 weeks ago. It's still not on the NA VC. I can see it being released in March.

As for the entire VC thing, I'm fairly sure you'll have to reformat the flash memory. The game are tied to the person who bought them even in Europe. That's what it explains on the manual.

Oh, my bad. I didn't know it had a different name over here. I should have looked it up xD

You wont need to reformat. The games are tied to the CONSOLE. If they were tied to the person it would require you to create an account. They are tied to the Nintendo Europe account if the last owner has set it up but you can change that easily.

Basicly, no problems.

I know it might be hard to do, but try and find a new unused system. It just seems like there would be less hassle that way. But that's just me, and I don't live in Europe so i don't really know what the Wii situation is like over there.

It's the same as over there only we have the option to connect our Wii to our Club Nintendo account. However doing so makes no difference as of now.
