Playing Wii on a wide screen TV

Would it stretch the image horizontally? Or would it just leave the left and right sides blank?

there's a widescreen option in the Wii settings that adjusts the aspect ratio to fill the screen with no noticeable stretching/distortion.

Depends entirely on the game your playing. Some games support wide screen..some games have black bars on either side

I'm fairly certain every Wii game is made in 16:9, in other words made to fill Widescreen TVs.

Not every game has 16:9, most of them do though. The only one I have that doesn't support 16:9 is Tony Hawk.

Warioware is one that is not widescreen and koririmpa. You have to set the tv to 4:3 to display the image properly even when the Wii is set to 16:9. Mario party is 4:3 but displays the bars without having to adjust the tv. Warioware being 4:3 was never mentioned in any review I've read but was seen a real negative with Mario party 8.

I tried to play trauma center on my firends widescreen and it stretched really badly.
