Hey there everyone, sorry to bother your forum trolling :P I'm considering buying a DS lite or DSi and I just wanted to ask owners of the DS: Is the DS worth buying? If yes, what are some games you can advise me to get (I dont like GTA). Also which one, DS lite or DSi, and what type of SD card would u advise if i bought the DSi. Im planning to get 2-3 games on purchase if i decide to buy it, and maybe you guys could point me in the right direction. Sorry for the amount of questions!! Thanks! Oh and one more thing, I havent played pokemon since Red version and im contemplating as to whether or not to buy D/P/Pl which one would be the right choice? :)

If you are not interested in playing any GBA games get the DSi, it has a lot of fun features. As far as games go there is a fantastic selection. For starters, Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros, Mario & luigi Partners in Time. Any of the Castlevania's, Chrono Trigger, Poke'mon Platinum.

Hope this helps. ;)

Go with DSi, because eventually games will go DSi only.

Even if you're interested in GBA games, get the DSi. Eventually a virtual console will come out. And a 1-2GB SD Card is all you need since the DSi lets you store a maximum of 4000 photos and 3000 songs onto an SD Card. By the way, if you decide to use the music feature, use iTunes to quickly convert all your songs to AAC.

I think maybe 1 or 2 games will go to DSI using the photo technology but apart from that Nintendo wont make DSI only games

You don't even know that. At the rate the DSi is selling, in at most a year, the DSi will have sold around 80 million units. That gives Nintendo the choice to release a new console in about a year after(like the traditional time period), or make the DSi the next gen., which its powerful enough to do. And game developers are already working on DSi projects. Another fact: Why the hell would Nintendo send out developer kits for the DSi exclusive and enhanced games if they were going to ONLY release 1 or 2 games. Talk about waste of money.

Well if you have old GB games that wish to still play then go for a Ds Lite, if you don't then pay a couple extra for a webbrowser, bigger screen and brighter, camera, and sleek design. Those who have Lite are content with it, and those who have purchased a Dsi (moi) are also content with it. I recommend these games; Mario Kart DS Pokemon Platinum Rhythm Heaven Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Super Mario Bros. Thats about all I can think of from the top of my head.

I would also add New Super Mario Bro's to your starting game list. Oh and even though you decided to get the DS Lite, I would advise getting the DSi. All the extra features make a big difference. Bigger, brighter screens, better sound, etc.

If you have no desire for DS games, then you should definitely buy the DSi, however, if you enjoy playing them and don't get enough of them, then stick with with the DS Lite. And I'm not sure on which SD card you should buy, sorry! :(

I would still go with the DSi. If you're just going to use it for gaming, in time a DSi library will have opened up with exclusive DSi games and you may live to regret missing out on a few titles. Plus the DSi shop is bound to get some interesting stuff sooner or later. The only notable ones i've played are Real Soccer '09 and WarioWare Snapped.

If you enjoy gameboy games, buy the DS lite. here are some games i recommend:

Mario Kart DS

New Super Mario Bros

Legend of Zelda Phantom hourglass

Pokemon Platinum

Sonic Rush

Sonic Rush Adventure

Sonic Chronicles: the Dark Brotherhood

Professor Layton and the Curious Village*

*Professor Layton will be VERY hard to find, almost anywhere. My sister just bought that game, the people at Gamestop said they sell about 5 copies a day for that game. So you might want to order it.
