The problem with a 3D pokemon game is that it will never play like a normal pokemon game. I think definitely worth a shot but it would have to be done very well to capture that same pokemon experience.
An officially made 3D pokemon MMO would be great but I doubt it will ever happen.
I think a 3d pokemon game would be cool, but then it would be way different from the others.sman3579
different but not way different remember zelda or mario? those game turned into 3d became legendary.
ohh my god it would be amazziing no joke. SIck wicked amazing. So...so perfect. And please don't get rid of turn based. Tried and tested. Turn-based is fine and i like it. Maybe make it look cooler though with HD pokemon so you can see the hairs on the growlithe's back stand on end.
Even if they just did something like ff7 standard i would cry with happiness. And also MMO would be amazing. But there would have to be limitless levels. Actually it would have to be a lot harder to level in general.
It would be awesome! But I don't think Nintendo will make it. If they release a 3D Pokémon RPG the sales from the handheld titles will decrease a lot, I know Pokemon fans will buy both games but many people won't, I think that's the reason why Nintendo didn't make it yet, they are probably afraid that something like that happens.
A 3D pokemon game could have been made years ago on the xbox and ps2 but not on the GC with 250 or more of them. Now finaly the Wii has disks the size of normal DVDs it can do it with the 4GB of space. An Example of a pokemon like game made on the ps2.

Would be cool, but will never happen. The proper RPG Pokemon games will always be on handhelds, seeing as they're easier to make, more popular and sell like crazy. All the Wii and future Nintendo consoles will have are spin-offs like Colliseum, Gale of Darkness and Battle Revolution.
Although, Pokemon Stadium 3, a game I've been waiting to be announced for many years now.
Doesen't mean they can't do it though, They should just give it one shot and see how it works if it doesen't they should have a backup plan to bring them back up.Would be cool, but will never happen. i think they should make a pokemon first person shooter. hear me out! you play as Ash or someone and your plane crashes in a desolate island...and all the pokemon want you dead. you go around this tropical island and try to find your way out. then, when you go back home...the pokemon have taken over! now you have to save your home land (cuz it take place in kanto or johto and whatnot). i can imagine it. a blodthirsty pikachu going after you while you shoot at him with a desert eagle. the pokedex could be used to radar or find out weakspots (ala metroid prime's scan visor). i smell win! (oh, and Morgan Freeman has to narrated it). what do you guys think? :Dicarus212001
 that's what i think

ive been praying for a game like this since before those crappy gamecude games that came out. i think its quite possible. hopefully they dont make another colliseum or something.
Hey you pikachu was 3-D and I loved it now Im still playing it at the age of 16!!
But that was probably the only good 3-D game made and It was in the past too. I wonder If they can make a virtual console for that. I'd love it.

Pokemon are in 3-D in Brawl. Pikachu, Mewtwo, Jiggly, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, and all the pokeball Pokemon, also possibly Lucario

Lucario is a confirmed secret character, since the *** release.
Yeah, I started playing Pokemon right when it came out, I was 8 when the pokemon craze started used to watch everyday played the games, got all 151 on my blue version the real way, got them to 100 the REAL WAY NO RARE CANDY CHEAT! And like someone said earlier I always wanted a 3D pokemon game. I remember when i was probably 9, pokemon collisilum's name some how surfaced and me and all my friends though it was going to be a 3D game, then it diddn't come out for almost 4 years after that. But when stadium came out I thought that was going to be the 3D game and it was just the gay little battle game. I'm 18 now and obviously don't play pokemon like I used to, When im really bored I'll pick it up and play it, or if I see a episode on I might change the channel and watch but after Silver, Pokemon was never the same. I honestly would buy a 3D game if it came out, I think it would bring back alot of fans my age who always wanted the game to come out but it never did. And the gameboy games just feel to childish for us. It would have to be really really good though. This was my idea.
You have the choice to play as Ash, Gary, or create your own Pokemon. If you choose Ash you start off with Pikachu, (and he refuses to go in a pokeball), Evemtually you meet up with Brock and Misty and they follow you around. Gary starts off with Eevee, and as you go along just like in the show you get chances to get the three starters from random ways (maybe even just like the show) And if you create your own you can get one of the three starters or Pikachu or Eevee, with the same chances to get the other starters. And then the game will kind of go on like the show as in sequence of events. Battling would have to be complety redone, and have it like Super smash Bros almost were you controll the Pokemon. They would have to have more then 4 moves...they can use any move the know its just differnt combinations of buttons. And you can use surroundings as advantages and moves to do different things. like bulbasaur vine whipping the ground seding him flying in the air. Team rocket also in the game (the real ones Jesse and James and Meowth) and would try to steal your Pokemon. Then once you get the bages and and do the Pokemon leauge, you go to like a movie mode were you go to the Mewtwo island and have your chance to get Mewtwo and other legendaries from the first 150. This trend continues as you go to the Orange islands after, Johto, and whatever the next two lands are I dont even know, with scataerd movies in between to try and get legindaries. Other things I forgot, make it alot harder to level up, and give more advantages to not evolving your pokemon at there regular levels. Because as far as I know Ash's Bulbasaur still hasnt evolved after what 10 years? That things gotta be level 80 something and still not even a Ivysaur it it kicks ass.
So creators of Pokemon who ever you are listen to your fans. MAKE A NEXT GEN POKEMON GAME IN 3D!!!! RPG STYLE. We understand you target like 11 and under and thats great they will still buy the game boy games because they want pokemon on the go. But us next gen fans who sit here on are Wii's and xbox 360's half us dont have a DS anymore so we dont buy the games. The Wii has really good games, but not the console moving games like Xbox(Halo, gears) PS3 (Metal gear), There's not gunna be another Zelda or mario for the next 5-6 years you need something to fill in, why not Pokemon?
I don't think they should make it into an MMO. If they did, nobody could catch the legendary pokemon because only one exists of each, and if they were able to catch them there would be thousands of Arceus, Groudon, Mewtwo and the like battling it out every day. Actually the main reason why it wouldn't work as an MMO is that I can't see a fully online game (like an MMO) operating on Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
Personally, I prefer turn-based battles, and they would work online better as well. If it was an action rpg, it would have to be a darn good one.
You know, on second thought I think they could make a damn good Pokemon MMORPG - one set in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon universe. Instead of being a trainer setting out to train pokemon, you would be a wild pokemon or else someone that 'turned into' a pokemon, and you would decide upon the species and gender of the pokemon you play as, and your homeland would be set as whatever location your pokemon normally lives in in the wild. So like if you're a pikachu, beedrill or shroomish then you would live in a forest, if you're a sandshrew, zubat or nosepass you would live in a cave, and if you're a manmade or tame pokemon like mr. mime, porygon and meditite then you would live in a city. And you would have more extensive customization for your character... Like you could switch your moves you learned outside of battle, and possibly change your special ability every several levels to determine a pathway for the type of special ability you want to end up with.
EX: I am a Geodude and I start the game with an ability that gives me 5% extra defense. As I gain experience points, I have the option to opt for a different ability, maybe this time one of two - 10% extra defense or protection against 1-hit KOs. If I chose the 1-hit KO ability this would be quite affective and I may not be given the option to advance or change my ability for a while yet, whereas the 10% ability offers only a slightly better advantage in battles and I may be given a new ability option sooner rather than later.
To enhance the gameplay (since you only control one pokemon), you could have it set so that everyone answers questions to determine their pokemon type at the beginning of game (gender would not be affected, only if its a genderless pokemon. Males couldn't become Kangaskahn, etc.) and 'trade' their pokemon to another player and become that type of pokemon, while retaining some 'egg' data for learning techniques that pokemon otherwise wouldn't...Or else like people could breed their pokemon, and the old pokemon run away and you and the other person are left with twin pokemon that is different than the parent pokemon....or something.
I dunno...whats everyone think?
Anyways, I think a fully 3d Pokemon game like the handheld ones is all we really need.
It's funny, me and my friends started talking recently about programming a 3D Pokémon MMORPG (PC, not Wii... sry guys...). They aren't very excited with the idea, at least they don't feel like they're capable of making it. I've been thinking about all the conflicts there would be (as the above mentioned "rare Pokémon thing"). I even considered contacting Game Freak about it... But it's a wild idea...
If I ever make it it will probably not satisfy anyone of us (even me), fans. It may sound stupid, but, because Pokémon appeared early in my childhood, I always dreamed of being a Pokémon trainer.... And that's what the game would be about. Not about catching them all (at least the main goal). Because that would be impossible. The real game would be about being the best trainer. Would be about being a Gym Leader, for example... Yeah, catching them all has been "the" goal of all Pokémon games. But, to keep the history going... There would be only one rare Pokémon of each kind. That's a sacred rule to me.
I think one possible solution would be to catch it and then let it go... So it would be on your Pokédex... But not on your possession, so others could catch it... Don't know... I even thought of the same thing that some of you did: that, in battle, you would control your Pokémon directly, not as a trainer. But I also thought about a detail, a detail that some of you may not care, but I do, because I think it adds realism to the game. The fact that your Pokémon may not obey (at least for two reasons: lack of experience [trainer's] or because it has been traded).
Let's dream a little bit. Let's discuss some details of the game as if it were to be released... Some issues that could come up, etc.
PS: Sorry for my poor English.
I have always wanted to play a massive Pokemon game with all 4 regions. I would really like an MMO with each region being a different server or something. I can't really say there has to be a change because I love Pokemon the way it is now.
Don't Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness count as 3D pokemon RPG style games? And furthermore, isn't there one on the Wii aswell? I think it's called Pokemon Battle Revolution or something. So there's already the game out there that suits your needs.
No, because they did not play like a classic Pokemon game at all! If they did, everyone would be playing them. I only played Colosseum, and that was, like you said, a 3D Pokemon STYLE game. And it was ****Don't Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness count as 3D pokemon RPG style games? And furthermore, isn't there one on the Wii aswell? I was thinking that it should be called Pokemon Rainbow (assuming it is made). It would have all 4 reigons, making a total of 32 badges to collect. You would only have to collect 8 to get to the Elite 4. It would be 3D and MMO (using friend codes, you can track if your friends are on and where they are if they are online). It would have all 400+ Pokemon, unless new ones were added.
dude don't put stuff like "pokemon 3d wii game!" as a title if all you're talking about is if they should make it. You're making it sound like they are and you found pictures or gameplay or something, it's really misleading and annoying >_>
Mike885
You have a point. They should've made it "pokemon 3d wii game ideas" or somethin' like that.
I would definitely play a Pokemon MMO. I don't know how many times I've asked for one. They could improve a little on the Diamond/Pearl graphics engine, and I'd be fine with the visuals. I think the top down view is awesome for Pokemon. Maybe have a dual battle system where you and a friend can team up and take on two other npcs/players. I have tons of ideas for one, but I'm sure everyone else probably has similar thoughts. I have a gut feeling they might actually do something like this, I really do. Every Pokemon fan knows they'd love something like this, and I don't see why it couldn't happen.
