I have Pokemon diamond and I want to get another Pokemon game so I was thinking platinum but I want to know if there is a lot of new things in the game so I can get it. I don't want to get platinum if it's very similar to diamond.

Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum are all basically the same. I think there are a few new features in Platinum but I don't feel like looking it up.

it is the same game, just updated with some things. it's the same trend as all the previous games, like Yellow, Crystal and Emerald. though i heard platinum has more new things than those did.

Pokemon Platinum has a good deal of new things, the extra forms of Rotom (finally giving Rotom a purpose). Then there is the fact Giratina has his Origin form as the title Pokemon of the game. Shaymin also has a new form. AND! You can get the three legendary birds and the three regi pokemon WITHIN the game, meaning no more trading legendaries from old games *yay*. Then there's the Torn Dimension...thats something else your gonna love it.

i think it would be worth it since theres alot of new stuff as posted above me, and the characters get new clothes and stuff and ai heard there is suposed to be a battle frontier in this one too. but i think the main story line and first part of the game liek that for the most part are the same. i have pearl, but i will end up gettin platinum eventually, just not immediatly

Platinum is actually pretty awesome, and I haven't even gotten to any of the new features yet. Just the fact they added a bunch of cool Pokemon to catch within the game that were lacking in D/P makes it worthwhile for me. The only downer for me is the Japanese, but you don't have to be a "Team Rocket" scientist (see what I did there!?) to figure out the storyline in Pokemon games.

The biggest change to me is the inclusion of a heck of a lot of new Move Tutors and new learned moves in general, changing Pokemon strategies drastically. Along with the Wild Pokemon changes, new formes, and storyline changes, this feels a lot more like a full revamp than a mere director's cut.
