If you played and loved 2nd gen (like me) when you were younger, buy it. If you're just getting your hands into Pokemon, I'd suggest platinum instead, but really both 4th gen titles and 2nd gen remakes are solid purchases that'll both eat away your time. Then again you do get the 1st gen in SS and HG...
