I loved Hoenn the most. I personally think that Sapphire/Emerald are the best games in the series. I have have played through them numerous time, but I sold my DS recently to buy a PSP so i cant play them any more. But once Platinum comes out I'll probably buy another DS to see how it turned out. I'm just a sucker for Pokemon i guess.
To get all three starters in the beginning you had to first start a new game pick one of the three starters , and then catch another pokemon put the starter in the PC switch the box and when it asks you if you want to save say yes , in the middle of saving turn the game off , and repeat two more times picking the other two starters. The starters you put in the PC should still be in the PC when you start a new game. It takes a wile each time you do this trick because you have to do the errand for the professor firts so you can use the PC.
I havent done this trick since the game first came out so I may have left something out.
you can beat it in 10 hours and get manaphy on diamond and pearl, then spend the next 100 hours playing diamond/pearl wondering why manaphy sucks so bad and where the F that egg came from with him in it considering it only has baby phiones.
Johto, the game themselves were a HUGE improvemente over the ther ones, a lot of new stuff, which has become mainstay, was introduced, new types, new MEMORABLE monsters...., not to mention, 2 different maps to explore, and since you(probably) knew the other zone, seeing how it had changed over the years, made it so much better.....
2nd gen without a doubt, though not for the duping thing...:?
I just felt that the 2nd gen was the best because it just was. Everything about it is awesome and improved over the last gen, with features that they took out of the 3rd.

2 gen, for sure. After that it just became REALLY commercial, they just made more and more content and stuffed it in shops all over the world, just to make money. I never actually enjoyed playing R/S/E and D/P ( i did like FR and LG in the beginning, but afterwards it wasn't satisfying either). I am keeping my fingers crossed for a remake ( however i think i will be disappointed by stupid things like about 50 pokemon you can't catch withut buying another 5 games (or systems :o))
You know why they were so awesome? they were awesome because they were the best GB and GBA games that the company put out for the pokemon series. I like the way they are makeing the RPG pokemon games(not the ranger series), and I cant wait fore the new one!!!:)
Ahh yes Pokemon Gold the first game in the pokemon series I ever played and I must say it along with silver and Crystal were the best of the best. I enjoyed Johto the most out f all the regions, the thing i livked most about Gold is that u got to explore two regions Johto and Kanto it was a bigger and better adventure.
I really did'nt enjoy Saphire at all, Fire Red was cool but it lacked many of the features that Gold had and D/P I guest you could say t was alright but I expected more.
A lot of people really liked the Johto series WE REALLY NEED A REMAKE!!! Either that or make a pokemon game where you can travel to other Regions(instead of taking a boat to another boring area...). Nintendo really needs to view this forum.
Nintendo should seriously consider developing a new pokemon game in which you get to travel through more than one region, cause I'm really getting tired of these single region games.
I mean they've already released 7 games after C/G/S and it just begining to get annoying now:evil:.I wish that they would at least make an updated version of Crystal.

Gold, Silver, and crystal cause you could go to Kanto, had the night and day, the cell phone, you could save money, your mom buys things could get most pokemon, get sixteen badges, see what happened after the first game...overall best one in the series for me.
