True though that may be, the main Pokemon series still tends to be a high quality regardless of how uninspiring the Pokemon look. Its going to dilute the series even more with numerous unimaginitive pokemon that are nothing more than colourful animals.
There are already to many Pokemon that are pointless, Nintendo needs to do some quality control

The games are still quality but the new pokemon are horrible makeing the games unplayable. If theres ever a day with under 200 pokemon I shall return but till then I shall not be buying one
I would very much enjoy it if the new Pokemon games only had the new ones that GF makes for it (150-200 hopefully).
It seems like they are afraid and put in the old ones that everyone loves instead of basing it off of the new ones.
The pre-evolutions were neat in Gold and Silver, but I didn't like them in Diamond.
Two more issues: ENOUGH WITH THE LEGENDARIES!!! R/B/Y had 5 legendaries, G/S/C had 6, R/S/E had 5 (I think), and I can't even remember how many Diamond and Pearl had, but it was two many. I would say that 4 or 5 should be the max.
My other quirk is the starters. While they were pretty cool, I would have liked them more if they stayed their type instead of going from Grass to Grass-Ground, Water to Water-Steel, and Fire to Fire-Fighting.

haha, yeah, back in the day the were SOOO much more imaginative (looks at raticate, butterfree, fearow, ect)
to the OP, i think alot of your predictions sound reasonable, except maybe a dugtrio EVO, as its already quite good. i would love to see an updgraded online system, with random battles, online rankings of some kind, and a revamped online trading service. i'de also like to see alot more pokemon that aren't exactly animals with different colors, like they've started doing in gens 3 and 4 (gardevior, metagross, drapion, and jirachi being some of my favorites).

Seriously. They really need to make all the Pokemon regions into one game for the DS, with NO new Pokemon, and a whole new story, and just put an end to Pokemon.
Also, maybe make it for the Wii too with slightly better graphics or something.

Hey, I want my kids to enjoy Pokemon during their childhood. With their reality helmets and holographic sprites and stuff. :x *jealous already*
Pokemon won't be ending for a very long time and Nintendo can't live off just remakes...
Yes, so lets talk about that instead of new pokemon. I hope this means they will bring in '360' movement, enough with the NES style! And hopefully they will completely redesign the battling, it's very bland and has barely changed since R/B/Y. They could do so much more with the series.More awesome new Pokemon. The 4th generation had some really great Pokemon.
Also they already confirmed they are working on a new innovative system for the game. So maybe the gameplay will evolve.

'cause the battle system can hardly be changed to improve. i still think dual-type moves (something like fighting-fire for fire punch) make too much sense to not exist yet, but it's been proven to me that it unbalances the game.More awesome new Pokemon. Agreed. And I see no links to prove otherwise.Generation V has not been confirmed yet. It's coming, but the title of this thread is absolutely misleading.

nintendo will NOT kill one of their biggest-selling franchises. it's like having a chicken that lays golden eggs and kill it because you're hungry.I would very much enjoy it if the new Pokemon games only had the new ones that GF makes for it (150-200 hopefully).

While I don't mind the legendaries, though they could tone it down a bit, I think the heavy cross-type system they're doing is a bit out of control. There are times I've had an electric pokemon hit my rock pokemon with a water attack...seriously?! How does anyone build a decent party for some random crap like that. All in all I'm enjoying the series as much as I ever did with Red/Blue, but just a few minor gripes...and they could definitely work on better pokemon than what's come out recently.

Because the kids at their school will make fun of them for playing old people games.
They'd be like "We have to use BUTTONS?!" and stuff. Maybe I'm looking to far ahead... But Nintendo isn't ending Pokemon any time in the near future.

This is true. The part about this in D/P/Pl that I hate is that there is not always an advantage between them (Water beats Ground, Fire beats Steel) and that makes it a lot easier. With Charizard and Bulbasaur that didn't really change fights between starters.

/disagree. all the best starters have dual typing. the only three starters in OU are swampert, infernape, and empoleon, who all benefit greatly from their secondary typing.
i'de also disagree because gen II is the only gen NOT to have any dual typing, so its not really a staple to have monotypes, moreso the other way around.
This series has got to die already! They ned to take an indefinite hiatus and leve it for a while. Like say for a mileniumor more.Calvin079
Why should the series die? Millions of people love the games and play them, old to young. It's like saying they should discontinue Pepsi because you like Coke more.
Your right, it is the same rehashed formula, but people still love it for what it is. They are making games every year, but people will stick with it to the end even if it's the same game as last year. Just don't say a game should die because it has 20 games (looks at Final Fantasy) and Pepsi is better :P
No. Pepsi is the better drink. :P But, it just needs to fall off the wayside for a bit. 'Cause, there is nothing really new, its the same rehashed formula time and time again. Give it a rest for a bit. People can buy other games too.Calvin079
the great thing about freewill is that you don't have to play it just because nintendo releases it. it would be a poor decision on nintendo's part NOT to keep releasing games, as its the second best selling franchise in video game history.

Funny, bacause despite all that, i'll still buy HG/SS, and probably the 5th generation too, and will play 'till my DS buttons fall from it, when I'll buy a new DS to continue playing. Like a lot of people out there. Because I have fun playing it, and that is the entire point of buying a game. Play it and have fun.
Things are not outright bad only because you don't like it. They are not good only because I like it too, but I think the numbers are against you.
No, i gave it up for...personal reasons, shall we say. I wish though, they would really would get rid ofit. I have an idea actually though. Here it is:
You choose any reigon to start on. ALL pokemon are available ingame. No trading, etc. You choose gender, your rival's gender, some clothes to choose from. The bad guys would be a bounty hunter after the legendaries for whatever reason. Everything would end @ Spear Pillar, with the police arresting the villain. Battles would be conducted by you controlling the pokemon (maybe even mystery dungeon like sequences) You could swim in certian places you found water ( surf everywhere else), you could become the Champ of all Reigons and take on all comers. Or, you could become a Gym Leader. The "boss" would be one of the E4 people for that reigon, and you have to win a tournament totaling 20 trainsers for that reigon. It needs more detail, but what do you think of my idea?

From the first bolded part, you obviously don't understand the spirit of Pokemon.
By the second I can see you don't understand how to play competitively, and that you don't understand the power of using a tried and true formula.
Pokemon itself is meant to be centered around interaction with other players, not in-game stuff that so many care about. Whether it be battling each other to try and prove who's better, or trading with each other to get a rare pokemon or something prized by the other person. The game's meant to have its highlights in how you play it with friends, or just other people, not how great the game seems when you're playing by yourself. The true spirit of the game is to promote people getting together to play games, not having an amazing single player game that you can play in your basement alone all day.
Also the current battle formula makes sense to stay. It allows for strategy to take a large part rather than physical dexterity. It's not about how quick your reaction time is, but how well you can scout your opponent and figure out what they're trying to do and stop it before they do the same to you. The game is currently made or broken in your desicions each turn and how well you can read your opponent. It is not affected by how quickly you react to your opponent's super attack or how many awesome techniques you can pull off with your fingers. You are a Pokemon trainer in the games, not a Pokemon. You aren't meant to be the quick and agile one, the Pokemon is. You are the strategist, and its your goal to command and find weak points in your opponent's defenses. In that way you are the general, you lead the army and they rely on you.

as for the eeveelutions. I think after espeon and umbreon it got a bit out of hand. espeon and umbreon are awesome. but now theyre going to make one for every type and the eeveelutions will be all over the place!
