Yes, gotta' catch 'em all. Thank you for the advice Nintendo, but if you really want us to catch them all then for the love of God please scrap all these event pokemon. They make it impossible for most people to finish the game. I've never even heard of any of these events in the UK. Not that I'd go to them anyway, I'm a nerd but I'm not insane enough to go to some event to get a virtual creature on my DS.

The whole multiple version thing is getting really tiresome too. I'm a social recluse with no friends so how am I supposed to get the other version's pokemen! Bah!

Yeah, the whole thing is clearly just a push to get people to buy other Pokemon games. I wonder how many people bought Pokemon Ranger just to get Manaphy...

Well not really 'cause the die hard fans just buy action replays. They could just make the very rare Pokemon VERY hard to get.

Pfft, where would the money be in that?

The GTS means that the whole thing about different versions is moot now, but I agree about stupid event Pokemon. There are like 50 legendaries that I'd have to go back in time and fly all around the real world to catch! It's stupid. Maybe if I could catch them all between the two games then I'd be more inspired to buy both (I always do because I'm a collector, but I'm just saying >__>)

D/P is alot easier than previous Pokemon games thanks to GTS/online trading. I thought that completing my Pokedex was easy and fun.

That's the thing about Nintendo. If they don't have your money, you never get satisfaction in your gaming. Wonderful business solution, it gets people buying. Just like this one Tom Clancy game for GBA. In order to fully beat the game and unlock all missions, you need to buy/use your GameCube.

You do realize that if the makers fo the pokemon series made it possible to catch all of the pokemon in one game then they would hardly make any money. Just because its an inconvience for you doesn't mean that they give a hoot. They want to make money and that is the primary focus. They know that people will buy Pokemon Ranger just to get the Manaphy and that was a reason for making the game.

Its frustrating for everyone and I share the concern that I have to buy every other game just to collect all the pokemon but you have to realize that the makers dont care.

Well you have to see the pokemon first meaning there are still probably hundereds of pokemon you can't get within the game.

Yeah, same here probably.

Of course I realise they don't care, I'm "calling them out" 'cause it's just cheap as hell.

You don't have to buy both versions. You could just trade with other players, which is how you catch them all.

super-easy way to chatch 'em all

step 1 ask people to fight you with d/p (whichever one you don't have) and use the ones that you need to find

step 2 buy whichever version you don't already have

step 3 get the pokemon that you want on other version

step 4 on one version put really horrible pokemon up for the ones from other version on GTS

step 5 search for the pokemon that you're trading over, and hopefully you'll find yours... and trade it...

step 6 re-do steps 4&5 until satisfied

Again, you have to see the pokemon before you can get it from GTS. Almost positive Online matches don't count too. So the only way yo get an event pokemon is by either going to the event or using an Action Replay.

Don't give up home man. You can use things like actionreplay (if cheating is your thing) or wi-fi connection to get pokemon from other versions. You could maybe gather up some friend codes for D/P on the forums and get more pokemon that way.

I got a friend's friend to take my DS to an event and get me that Darcrai, but it was still fairly disappointing. Supposedly their was an event and then you got to battle him, but all I got was a person to hand me a Poke'ball. I'm thinking of getting and ARC and giving myself the items I need to do the events to catch them.

I say they need to make a game that combines Blue/Red/Yellow, Gold/Silver/Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, and Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. And NO event Pokemon and no use of Poke Sav or Action Replay. You should be able to catch every single Pokemon in the Pokemon universe without cheats, events, or trades. Nowadays you can't ever tell if someone is good at the game or not because of all the cheats. You wouldn't believe how many times I've asked someone how they managed to come by a Shamin and they just say "Oh, I just used Poke Sav." or "My Action Replay."

It's always been that way and it always will be that way. Whether it's an attempt by Nintendo to make more money, to encourage people to trade and play together, or simply to encourage desirability via rarity and exclusivity is anyone's guess. There are good arguments for all points of view.

I myself don't think it's necessary to own every Pokemon in the book - this would be akin to same feat as a person seeing every bird in the world (which only a handful of people have ever done). I just enjoy Pokemon for playing the game, collecting my favourite Pokemon, and having fun. Just enjoy what you have and don't worry about being a 100% completionist. Pokemon is for fun it's not a lifestyle or religion.

I want a Pokemon game that has all 400 and whatever Pokemon in it, a couple dozen badges, and multiple islands. Just one game to rule them all.

You can get a good 350 pokemon in the series without leaving your house. GTS allows you to trade for them, and using the pokeradar and other items allows you to get the rest.

The major pokemon you can't get are the starters and the legendaries, which is an obvious bummer, but still. I don't really intend on catching them all because I really just want the ones that stomp people, which doesn't require trading at all.

well i do think they should put ever pokemon in to one game that would be great. but they really need to block cheating or haking in the game. you can get every pokemon from the gts but the only problem is that you have to have seen the pokemon first. well i hope the next game has no cheating or hacking andbattle with anyone not useing freind codes

No there should always be that one pokemon you can't get in either games that drives you to keep playing it, but iwish they would put them on the console games like they did for the first two generations.
