Pokemon Pearl: Evolving Electabuzz

I know that to evolve Electabuzz into Electivire you need to trade Electabuzz while it's holding the item Electirizer.

I looked up how to get an electirizer, and you find them on on wild Elekids (only obtainable with National Pokedex & FireRed in the dual slot).

I've got almost 10 wild Elekids, which are rare and take a lot of searching, but I haven't seen any of them holding the item.

Do they really hold it, is there an easier/alternative way to get it?

According to Marriland:

Pokemon Pearl: 50% chance of finding a electrizer, 5% chance of finding a magmarizer (on magbys, of course)

Pokemon Diamond: 50% chance of finding a magmarizer, 5% chance of finding a electrizer

So if you're using Pkmn diamond, you're screwed.

But worry not, ol' uncle meia, the pkmn veteran is here to help you.

Here are some hints:

-Have a pokemon with compoundeyes (venonat, nincada, yanma and butterfree have them)

in the first party slot, it increases the chance of wild pokemon holding items.

-Have a pokemon (a shuppet/banette might be a good idea) with the ability Frisk and the move Thief, Frisk tells you

if the enemy pkmn is holding an item, so you won't need to waste your pokeballs trying to find them.
