im up to pokemon league can't get past it.

what I do is go through the elite 4 and give on of your lower level pokemon an EXP share that way they get 1/2 the exp when you KO a pokemon. They go up at least two levels every pokemon.Minishdriveby

Lucky Eggs give 1.5 time the experience of a normal battle. Traded Pokemon get a bous as well.

Getting a Pokemon to level 100 takes a long time. It's usually suggested that you level up to as high as you can (like level 80) and just rare candy the rest of the ay after you've finished training it.

The two ways that I've found to be the fastest are going to the elite four and punching in their faces. A lot.

Also, with the Chansey egg thing, take a Pokemon who has the ability called grift (Banette is a good example) into the area directly above Solaceon city. When you find a Chansey, grift will tell you whether or not its carrying a lucky egg. It takes a while, but if you're patient you can get one of the best items in the game from her.

There is a way which I've found that works extremely well that I use all the time for getting massive experience without fighting the elite four. Get a high lvl. Pokemon that carries explosion in its moveset. Go to the area in the victory road cave where a man previously blocked off before you got to the elite four. Go inside and find a trainer named Marley. Pick the Pokemon in your party that you want to gain the exp. from. Not the exploder. Get in a double battle via Marley with the Pokemon holding the lucky egg in front. Immediately change to the exploder and use the skill. Barring the appearance of Steelix, you should have blown away the other 2 Pokemon with ease. Your exploder is obviously fainted, but the one in the lead should have gained about 3500 experience. After you exit the battle, Marley will have healed all Pokemon, so feel free to continue your explosion spree. You can typically get a Pokemon to lvl. 50 from lvl. 1 in about 2 hours.
