Forgive me if this has been asked a million times, but I can't find any solutions to this specific problem...

BACKGROUND INFO: I am on a NETGEAR WPN824 router with WEP encryption, WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK Wi-Fi protected access.

I am able to connect on the DSi WiFi menu stuff by setting up my WiFi under the Advanced Settings option, because for some reason it says my internet isnt accessibly through the regular connection search. (It has a little gray lock by it)

NOW: When I try to setup my WiFi on the WiFi options menu in Pokemon Platinum, it wont let me access my internet through the regular search, and there is no Advanced setting to setup my connection.

Help! Is there anyway I can set it up? Do I have to change my security settings on my router so that I can access from the regular search? If so, how?

Thank you in advance, any help would be greatly appreciated.. This is my first Pokemon game since Blue Version came out, and was really hoping to be able to trade and battle online:(

You have to see if your router is compatable, there was a thread long ago, but i cant find it.

Also the DS doesn`t work with WPA/WPA2 connection.

Thats it then, I'm on a WPA. I am trying to figure out how to either temporarily turn it off or switch to a WEP, because my routers box says it has WEP setting..

I sugges to temporaly switch to WEP. WEP security is better than nothing. You have to access the router config page. To do this write one of the below adresses on your web adress bar: 192.168.1.1 192.168.0.1 THese are the default adresses for most of routers, if a box appear asking for passwords or the router page open, then you got it right. If not then you have to try to find what is the adress router. Write in the pass and the login on the box if it appears, the defaults are admin for both login or password or admin for login and the password camp is blank. If it doesn`t work then you have to figure the pass and the login, it should be on the manual, unless someone changed it. Look for wireless options, browse a bit and you will see the option to change the key. You just need to create a WEP key and change it temporaly when using the DS, when you finish with your DS, just change back to WPA.

I changed it to WEP, but now it says that my computer can't connect because the computers settings arent right, and it won't let me connect at all on my DS :(

I think I may need a new router :-/
