Which should I get at this point in time? Both or should I get Sun or Moon, and if one right now, which one should I get? Thanks in advance!

Moon for me! But I recommend looking up what will be in both copies as a few of the pokemon will differ depending on which game you chose.
IDK. I am just going to do what I did last time. I will buy both games, let my girlfriend choose one and I will take the other.
lol I'm doing the exact same thing every game since black/white :D
@Tc: Just check out the differences and chose based on them? The biggest are probably the day/night switch and the two legendarys.
And I got my copy yesterday_
Dont be a casual. Get both.
Your calling of"casual" is questionable.
Why spend double? When you can trade with a friend, and interact with the unknown like the games are intended?
Unless you want to finish a "casual" story mode twice? Buying both has no purpose, in a game which favors multiplayer interaction over all else.
Thanks, people. I may get both because I always get two versions of a new gen with they come out. The only problem being the cost as I don't get paid yet and I may have to ask my parents for the rest of the money for both versions.
I'm thinking I will be getting Moon, since my buddy was talking about getting Sun. I guess I'm kind of partial to Moon anyway.
It works out, since I think the Ice/Steel Sandshrew, Drampa and Lunala look cool. But really, it doesn't seem like there is anything important enough to make me really want one version of the game over the other.
@link456710: No reason to get both especially if they come out with a third game which some rumors have already pointed to. You can get all the exclusive pokemon by trading online anyways.
Gamespot came out with an article with the differences.

neither. If the rumors are true about there being a pokemon stars based of SuMo for the Switch, then I would want to get that version.

That's a big assumption.
Stars is leaked onto the Switch list of games, we know this to be true. But last I checked it's not confirmed to be Sun and Moon. If it is? Hope I can play against Switch players, but frankly it's probably a Stadium like game.
Blindly believing rumors is rarely a good idea_

Hmm I was going to wait for it but seeing how long that could take (6 months to a year) I chose to play now. Especially because there are shows like the weekly Brandon Sun Kyle Moon with people who are also going to be playing this game, reporting on what happened that week and what they thought of it. I don't have friends who play Pokemon, and this seems like a fun way to hear other people's experiences to compare to my own.
Normally I don't pay nearly as much attention to details as they do. I already noticed a lot of context they give you in the beginning about how Pokemon function in this setting that I would have missed if I wasn't preparing for next week's show. The only small problem I foresee is roughly matching my pace to theirs.
