I was just wondering, since HG and SS are coming out soon (not that I'm rushing out to get them anytime soon) I was wondering which other Gens should be made into a new game. and then I started thinking which was the best Gen.

for me the best Gen is

DPPL: So many new things, the region was alot more thought out that RSE and there were not as many useless pokemon ( though the ones that are useless are the worst after GSC ) and upgraded heaps of the ones from RBY or FRLG, introduced new items for evolution. Made new methods for evolution. Added enough new pokemon to make us happy (although some Sinnoh pokemon are easier to obtain than say RSE) And they introduced aa new Rival that isn't the exact counterpart of the main character (the first since GSC)

My favorite is still Silver. I won't be buying the remake though. I mean I literally played Silver a lot and beat it more than once so I don't really see the point. I know it will probably have online which is cool but meh.

I do like the fact that at least the starter Pokemon will be out of the Pokeball when you're walking though. That looked cool as hell.

Edit: Who knows though? THey are bringing back 3D towns from Pearl/Diamond and the night and day should be in tact, and I loved Pokemon like Umbreon so maybe. If I have a job by then maybe I will pick it up.

All I know is I had Pearl and although I thought many of the Pokemon were cute, I never played online (although I could have easily) and got bored of the game somewhat quickly. I got to like the fourth gym and sold it.

yeah, like in the original yellow, I remember i got my first gameboy game ever was gold when I was five, LOL, I couldn't figure out how to get outside the town, I got some random kid to show me. Each game has a different feel to it don't you think?

Also if this quote box has messed up its just because I'm an iddiot

Gold was my favourite. I was 10 or so when it was released, and as far as I can remember, never been as hyped for a game like I was for Pokemon Gold. I remember reading a kids magazine and it had a small preview booklet for Gold/Silver with it.. I was so excited..

I restarted my Gold file, and then beat the first gym in a day. Then I saw online that the Pokemon people in Japan had an announcement in a few days, so I just waited, and as I thought, Heart Gold and Soul Silver was announced.

I'm just going to wait for those to play the second generation.

I've played and beaten all the other games, and the first is probably my favorite. I liked the Emerald and Platinum generations the same.

well... gold/silver had the whole previous game and an entirely new world, but i liked the latest gen more because of the huge amount of stuff to do other than beating the elite 4 and then raising your team (not to mention we finally have online)

My favorite was the second gen (Gold and Silver). I just really liked those games, and the Hoenn generation was very good too.

In my personal opinion, the 2nd generation is still the best. I truly felt that Crystal in particular was a giant step for the games and really was the best of the series.

I will be buying one of the remakes when they come out. I feel that these were some of the best games they made for the series and I've been clamoring for a remake. (See my review of Crystal.)

The fact that you are getting 2 regions along with 16 gyms and an intense elite four make it a no-brainer.

Spoiler: You fight red from the 1st gen in these games. That's almost reason enough for me to get it. :P

I liked the feel of the first generation to be honest, but the additions of the running shoes and little EXP bars made the game significantly better for me :P

i personally love 2nd gen. , it had 1st in it after elite 4 letting you obtain16 badges.thats awsome. not to mention the only time when you could fight a manga character red. but 3rd gen. hoen definitly had the most depth in its quest and all, but it just wasnt as fun. 4 th genration with D&P was fail cept for the online though i did enjoy pokemon platinum very much just cuz it had alot more to do.HG&SS have the potential to be the best pokemon games ever though i must say......if they still keep kanto add hoen and after beating the game sinnoh...then yes it could be the very best of the best. oh yes and use the user-friendly pokedex form 4th gen. when you just have to see pokemon. catching was annoying.wihtout having to catch pokemon you can work on yer team better ^^
