Dead Space:Extraction had a ton of hype when it was announced, but extremely low sales indicates the game is bombing. Did the on rails aspect of the game affect your decision to purchase it?
For me, absolutely. This would have been a day one purchase for me had it been a TPS or FPS. I lost most interest in the game when it was revealed that it would be on rails. I lost all interest in it when I found out the game was filled with short sections of game play followed by extremely long cut scenes. To me, rail shooters are great party games if they are full of action. Without the action, it becomes boring and friends/guests lose interest.
Edit: Ignore the smart ass comments after the pole answers. The questions are basically just Yes (you were going to purchase it until you found out it was on rails), No (had no negative effect -- you're interested in buying/have already boughtit anyway), and I would not have bought it either way. I really just want to get a totally unscientific view on how much EA's decision to put the game on rails affected sales.
