Everybody loves Virtual Console, but not everybody loves having to buy at least 1000 points at a time. If you have exactly 100-400 points, you're basically stuck and if you want another game you have to spend at least 10$ on points, bumping you up to 1400 points.

Okay, an example. Let's say Super Mario RPG is released on virtual console and you have 700 points. Now, you're dying for Super Mario RPG, and you don't want any more games for the foreseeable future. Now, instead of Nintendo letting you buy 100 points (1$'s worth) you have to buy 1000 points (10$'s worth). It all seems like a waste and the cycle will probably keep repeating itself.

The cycle I'm talking about is people being left with 100-400 points. You're empty handed, broken hearted, and money lost. Unless you get very lucky, you probably will have to keep repeating the cycle of buying 1000 points when you don't want or need to.

So, would it be logical for Nintendo to let you buy 100-400 points at a time? Discuss..

I'm happy with ten like they have now.

Less seems like too much micromanagement. I don't mind some extra points rattling around my account every once and a while.

You should be able to buy the amounts that the games cost: 500, 600, 800, and 1000.

I think nintendo makes more money they way they do it now...there are two ways to look at it if you only want 100-400 points, first would be to just not buy any because you would have to spend 10 bucks, the second would be to spend the 10 bucks just for the few hundred points you want. Now this is pure speculation but I bet there are more people in the second catagory than in the first. Yes nintendo is losing customers by not letting them spend just a couple bucks at a time but many of the people who are paying 10 bucks or more at a time would not spend that much if they didnt need to (myself included). So all in all I think the system as it is, is the best for nintendo.

Also with Wiiware coming out soon Im sure there will be several really cheap games that will help you spend the small amounts of points you may have left over.

Hmmm, I don't know

I think Nintendo met the customers halfway when they brought out the gifting option. That way two people pooled together their resources to get a game..

I think it would be useful but I'm just not too sure how useful it would be to how many.

I think its fine the way it is. But either way Nintendo isn't going to change it. If you buy 2000 points and spend 1500 of it you only have 500 left and if you want a game that is 600 points you have the buy the whole 2000 again. If Nintendo lets you buy just 100 points they will loose money. They want you to always need more points. If that makes sence. (It did in my head lol )

Definitely yes... generally customers would like to get their money's worth when they buy something and having idle Wii Points is a waste.

I'd like it if Nintendo sold Wii points in smaller increments, but I won't hold my breath for it.

It'd be useful if they did.I have 300 spare Wii Points; 200 more points, and I'd have enough for an NES game.

I'm fine, its just simple math on what i can and not buy. Although it would be nice to have that little option.

Sheeesh! So you have a dollar left over in your account until you buy another game. Big deal! How many people complaining in this thread aren't going to download any more VC games, ever? Buying Wii points in larger increments is saving you money. Nintendo has to pay a transaction fee every time they sell you points, so the less often you buy points, the better for them. And that's better for you, because business costs get paid by the consumer.

a better idea is that you can buy the game separately, search the game you want and just download it

some really old NES games like 4$ and the good ones 5$something like that
