its a fun game, however if you have an xbox360, its better if you get that version. wii owners were cheated out of additional content so its best if you get it for the 360. if you dont have one, get it anyways, its loads of fun, but if you've never played gh before, i highly highly recommend you start with the others first so you can ease in better and the difficult climb won't be as steep for you.

Wat r the other featues on 360?
not really featires, but rather that the 360 version has about 20 downloadable songs and characters (the god of rock anyways). i'm not sure if the same applies to the ps3 version, so don't take my word on the "360>everything else" statemtn i mentioned before. its still a really fun game that you shouldnt miss out on but take into consideration that it is immensly difficult for newbies of the game.
It's the only video game that makes me feel cool when I'm playing it. It's fun, challenging, and there's lots of good music. Of course, downloadable content would be nice, and Rock Band is coming out this year...
GH3 on the wii wouldn't have been a bad option, but that whole mono problem was too much. Basically all retail versions of the game last year, and maybe even now, were still mono. I don't believe they've fixed retail copies yet. Only you have to send them in, and get a replacement.
It's great it's only diferent from other consoles because some characters ( god of rock/ grim reaper) some effects are missing (when lou summons his guitar no fire comes from the ground unlike the other versions) and it's missing the downloabable content, but it's overall the same great experience.
The Wii version of Guitar Hero III might pale in comparison to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, but it is still a deadly game. I love it and can't wait to get my hands on another guitar for some multiplayer action!

Then there's Rock Band....which embaresses GH off of this dimension's plain of existence. As a drummer in a band I'll tell you that all facets of Rock Band smoke GH in production, fun factor, presentation and most importantly playabilty and soundtrack. GH is dead to me.

Really though, it is a lot of fun, especially with friends. I agree that the lack of DLable content (for now atleast) is kind of a short fall for the Wii version, but theres still enough content plus online play to keep you having fun.
