Poll: What would you consider to be the biggest flaw of the Nintendo Wii?

This question has probably been posted before, though I don't recall seeing a poll...Anyways I just wanted to know what people think. And please fanboys, try and show some maturity and not accuse me of being anti-nintendo or some crap like that. I have every system except ps3, I'm not behind any one company or platform. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I personally think it's the lack of a hard drive. I can live with a limited amount of games to choose from. But when I do have great games to play, I would like to see alot of downloadable content so that the experience can be further enhanced.

either expand the harddrive or let us run games from our SD cards

also the lack of Resident Evil 5 mortifies me

The wii needs some other good games not made by Nintendo, because right now Nintendos games are about the only good ones worth buying for the Wii. I think Wii should try to get some more multi-plats, then I'd be satisfied.

P.S. Some exceptions to the above would be RE4, NMH and a few others.

--Terrible game selection compared to the other next-gen systems. Don't get me wrong, I love the Nintendo Wii. It is the only modern day console that I own. When the games are good, they are spectacular. But there are only a few games I've played for the Wii that really stand out.

Cost their not competitive enough (for an extra 100 more than the wii the xbox was offering 2 good and free games and a 20gb harddrive)

no component cables with system no Ethernet port no hard drive and kinda weak, and maybe voice chat, that said i sill love the wii!!:)

well I voted too many crap games, but now that I think about it, I am more of a PC gamer and only really play zelda, galaxy, and paper mario on the wii. I want to finish the first two metroid prime games so I can get the third, and im going to get brawl and mario kart.

I should have voted for the hard drive because I think that eventually with all the available downloads (VC..) the Wii will fill up fast.

-No Hard Drive. I have filled the internal memory with VC games and have to copy and delete to an SD card. This gets cumbersome as it is time consuming.

-Graphics in 3rd party games. Some are great and others are terrible. 3rd party publishers that can't master the Wii should not make games for it.

-Shovelware. It is BAD. What's the ratio of Shovelware to quality games at right now? About 10 to 1?

-Lack of online play. Not a big deal as I have PS3 and 360, but gamers who only have a Wii only have a handful of games to play online.

Right now its the graphics.

But once enough good downloadable stuff comes out, it will be the hard drive.

The graphical capablities don't bother me... but then I'm still impressed by what the Dreamcast could pull off.

The one thing that does bother me is not only the lack of storage, but its inflexiblity as well. The lack of a Hard Drive wouldn't be so crippling if we could at least run our VC games and game saves off of SD cards.

I highly recommend rereading (or perhaps just reading) the article in question. Nintendo is NOT taking a que from Xbox live. They are NOT just going to start charging for all online play. SSBB, MK, and any other title with the BLUE WiFi logo will be free to play online.

I have 2 Dreamcasts and 50 games for it. To be honest there are games on Dreamcast that I have yet to see be rivaled graphically on the Wii. Either the Dreamcast was overpowered for its time or 3rd party publishers need to learn the Wii better.

Lack of expandable HDD, lack of quality releases aside from the main titles, and crap VC games. I haven't played my system in a long time, been waiting for the titles that are few and far between.

It's been slow for the other systems also, but there's more to look forward to for my Playstation 3. Smash Brothers will be good, but I don't know after that.

I don't really have any qualms for the wii. All the major complaints don't apply to me.

1. Graphics don't bother me. I've got a PC for shiny graphics.

2. No hard drive. I don't do emulation. I play on the native consoles or none at all.

3. Shovelware. Like I said in another thread, not my problem and it's not a problem with the machine itself, should not be a poll choice imo. I don't buy shovelware games. I actually research games before I buy them and shovelware games don't sell too hot anyways.

4. Lack of a headset/online games doesn't bother me. If I want multiplayer, the only way to go is local. Get some friends together in THE SAME ROOM and have a ball. Playing while pretty much talking on the phone is just lame in comparison.

That's really good news, what you just said. I thought the Wii would be a lost cause after the pay for internet buisness.

Are you going to get 32 or 64 people in your living room? I don't think so. The internet has so many advantages over playing local mulitplayer. I hate 2 player split screen, because the screen gets so small. 4 player local is not even worth it. With the internet you can play with and talk to people all over the world. For the average American that can barely speak English correctly, this is useless, but for someone like me (I am fluent in English and Spanish, and know some Japanese) this is a great tool to talk to people whom you may not meet in your own city. Plus I'm an adult, so my friends are busy just like I am. I like being able to play a quick game against other humans and not some lame, broken AI (MoHH rings a bell).

Just how is Nintendo not "competitive enough" when they are selling out all their systems? I don't understand how you could come to that conclusion. Reallly, Nintendo could charge $300-$400 for the Wii and still sell out.

hopefull some of them dedicated time to a good game at the same time they decided to produce their shovelware. because even though i dont buy shovelware i still dont like to look at DOGZ 2, and HORSEZ and so on. honestly some people just need to learn how to fire someone.

back on topic, I think the biggest flaw is the lack of consideration to other nations, such as the middle east. we're in next gen, so I would have thought they'd consider all parts of the world when selling their system and offering things like the shop channel and whatnot

Second this. There's so much that can be done with the Wii, but I'm afraid it'll be forever before developers finally hop on.

Nintendo is having a hard enough time supplying certain countries that they do, and they have already expressed interest in pushing into China if and when they ever catch up.

Umm don't the PSP and DS count as systems? Seems to me that I have 4 (in addition to wii and 360) not 2.

graphics are fine since i still own the average tv and not the HD ones.

games are if-y since i wish games like devil may cry 4, call of duty 4, maybe a roll playing star wars game and maybe shooters like time crisis series were available, but the nintendo only games are fine at the moment.

harddrive is a must. eventually the virtual games will fill it up and for owners of one already should get a portable one that can be attached.

wifi gaming should be improved and they should add like a wii instant messenger or something and maybe a gamers lounge, and even like the xbox idea where we have gaming points that we can redeem

although ive read they might be brinning an updated wii soon with a dvd drive in it so it can play dvds, that really doesnt matter to me since i own a ps2 and 2 other dvd players and a hi-fi system.
