So there is a lot of good RPGs on the DS, so many that I'm a bit overwhelmed. I want to know where to start.... I've never really been it JRPGs at all and they all look equally good. I guess I want one thats easy to start with and get into since I'm a bit of a newcomer to the genre.

I think for a starter, Mario & Luigi is more accessible, but I haven't played Partners in Time. Chrono Trigger is a good start too because it's basically a port of a really old game so the mechanics are very straight forward. FFIV is a bit difficult in this version. Pokemon can't be that bad either as a start, but it's kind of in its own genre...

hhhmm, I think I might be leaning a bit toward Chrono. I want one that will just pull me into the world, one that really immerses you, else I might get bored and loose interest. Plus I hear CT has a great story and is considered one of the all time best RPGs, so I want to see what all the fuss is about :P

Thanks for the input :D This is going to be a difficult decision!

If you mean "New" as in since about 1999, your correct. :P

I picked The World Ends with You only because of it's sheer brilliance. Plus given the fact you can adjust the difficulty whenver you want, you can make it as easy or as hard as you want it to be. But from what I've heard Mario and Luigi sounds rather easy to play.

The World Ends With You would be the best.

It has a very long story, great sound-tracks and an awsome battle sytem that will leave you wanting more.

Chrono Trigger is a classic so I would recommend that. You would get a chance to explore the 'golden age' of RPG's. Though perhaps picking up a copy of Pokemon Platinum wouldn't be a bad idea if you have Wi-Fi so then you can enjoy the game with lots of other players. Really though, I do not think you can go wrong with any of those games.

I have to agree that this was the best one for me, but if you're just beginning then i'd say choose Mario and Luigi: partners in time. Its much easier to understand...

I put TWEWY because its an amazing twist to the RPG genre for the DS but thats only if you wanna get down to the nitty gritty. A basic RPG would be FFIV but I liked FFIII more.
