Hey. no negative comments. Its really need for a school project. i am well informed, since i been tracking the wii since the age of revolution. yes its true, wwe had more hard core games, such as Man hunt 2, Resedent evil ports, and now Dead rising, But when the casual games are comming out faster than the handful of hardcore games, is Wii really ment for the hardcore gamers any more, or will they come flocking back to it in 09. Thats my real question, In 09 will it be the hardcore system the gamers deserve, or will it be a system where people will us it casually and no onoe caring about what games come out for it.revjjmMario and Samus feel unloved. So, now, you're saying only gamers deserve games? Or that only gamers enjoy these so called 'hardcore' games? Nintendo hasn't changed their personal way of making games since the NES.
i don't care i don't believe in calling games Casual or hardcore and then peoples thoughts can be different from what is hardcore or Casual all it comes down to is what kind of games people likeelbert_b_23
Yes, well, whether or not you choose to use those labels, there is still a significant trend in what kinds of games certain types of players gravitate to, and game preferences and habits aren't so unique that it is impossible to classify into general categories for which player behaviour can be predicted! All a silly way of saying that there is truth to the "casual gamer" and "core gamer" categories of markets, and it is true that games are aimed at those different markets.

hat's not really an accurate list either. For example, it's already been said that Fragile is not coming to NA in 2009, Endless Ocean 2 isn't even coming to Japan until the end of 2009 so you can be certain it won't be released over here in 2009, Dynamic Slash hasn't even been confirmed for release outside Japan, ditto Let's Tap except for Australia, ditto Kizuna, ditto Bleach, and I don't think Tales of Ten has even had a release date announced for Japan yet, let alone been pegged for 2009 in NA/EU.
So while that may be a pretty good list for Japanese people, unless people here imported Japanese Wiis or did things to their Wiis that we aren't allowed to talk about on the forums, it's false hope.
Well the Wii is home to the most hardcore game OF ALL TIME this year, Sin & Punishment 2. So that answers that.
Nintendo is attempting to pull a DS with theWii = dump the hardcore gamers and leave the system for the trhird parties.OniStratIts worked for the DS.. though Nintendo has hardly dropped the DS, POKEMON!!!!!!!!!! YAY! WOW! AWESOME! YAY! :)
Casual or Hardcore?
It won't be decided by Nintendo, it will be decided by the community. If the developers continue to produce casual games and consumers keep buying casual games, then it will be a casual system. If developers start creating hardcore games, then that rep may change. Nintendo is only one member of the community. It's not Nintendo's fault that "Carnival Games" sold so well.
What does it matter?
I for one buy games that I think I will like, I don't give a damn whether or not it was made for newer audiences or the veteran gamers.
The way I see it talked about, if a game is dubbed "hardcore" by the gamers, it doesn't matter what it is, people will still look down on games that are made for people who are newer to video games, or just people who play a lot of different games that aren't point-shoot-win.
Instead of labeling a game "casual" and deciding not to buy it, read around about it, read reviews, and just buy game regardless of what people say about it.
Video gaming is largely opinionated. Everyone has different tastes, and some might find a game good while others find it horrible. Its life for you.
The Wii has a bad rep of being a casual gaming platform, with little or hardcore games avalible. Yeah we had SSB:B and LoZ:TP, and the upcomming Madworld, but that is it. We still have a bunch of kids game and the line of Wii named games. So what do you think, answer please, this going to help out a project im doing for school.revjjmWe had more hardcore games then SSBB and Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. We are also going to have more upcoming hardcore games this year.
I think The Conduit will provide a good indicator for which way(s) Nintendo will go.
But, Nintendo may be in the mind state of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
Wii can focus on both Casual and Hardcore gaming. 3rd Parties just need to stop being lazy because Nintendo seems to be producing all the hits (casual and hardcore).
I'm looking forward to MadWorld, The Conduit, No More Heroes 2, and Dead Rising Wii. Maybe 2009 is the year 3rd Parties actually "get it". As for Nintendo, WiiMotion Plus is all I need from them in 2009, and I'm sure the games will follow, including some surprises...
Heres a poll will these stupid topics and polls about this silly hardcore vs casual nonsense ever come to an end?Sepewrathiv got a better one. how about a poll asking why do people come into topics they say they hate so much yet cant stay out of even when the topic is titled clear as day ;).
