Predictions for tomorrows final Smash Direct?

So, as most of you know tomorrow (12/15/15) is the final Smash focused Direct.

Now we know we're going to be getting more info on Cloud and the Midgar stage, but I was wondering what are your predictions for the remaining announcements for this final direct?

Going by a recent date leak, their are slots for three characters and 6 stages (*though three of those will be the Omega forms), and Cloud and Midgar take a spot from each respectively. So I'm going to limit my prediction to two characters and two stages.

The first character I think will be announced is the final returning veteran, Wolf. Wolf has always been an obvious choice to return, like with Lucas he's a fan favorite and been a Brawl veteran he'd be fairly easy to pull off and I actually think he would have already been in by now to go alongside Star Fox Zero if it hadn't been delayed by several months.

My first stage prediction is Inkopolis from Splatoon. Nintendo needs to put some Splatoon representation into Smash, but at the same time, they need to keep some 1st party characters back for Smash 5. An Inkopolis stage with hazards like the Ink Tornado, or missiles going off all over the place would make for an awesome and hectic stage, perfect for representing Splatoon.

My second character prediction is, surprisingly, Banjo & Kazooie. These will be the characters chosen from the Ballot, and despite everything, they make a ton of sense. First of all Phil Spencer went on record shortly after the Ballot's announcement stating that he'd love to see Banjo in Smash, as did both Rare and Playtonic. Second is the very recent arrival of Minecraft on Wii U, proving that Microsoft and Nintendo are happy to work with each other on games. Third is some news that came out today where someone on Twitter asked Microsoft if they could look forward to Rare Replay on Wii U, to which Microsoft Studios Twitter account replied "Suggest it to the great folks at Rare". It's all just little hits towards a nice relationship forming between Nintendo and Microsoft and the inclusion of Banjo & Kazooie in Smash would just sweeten it. Plus let's be honest, they have to be one of the highest placing characters in the Ballot, right?

My second stage goes along with my second character, Spiral Mountain. The iconic starting location from all three Banjo games. You could have Mumbo's magic change elements of the stage, such as changing it's appearance between it's Kazooie, Tooie and N&B variations, or bringing in enemies like Klungo, plus the music... Honestly guys, that's the only reason I want Banjo and Spiral Mountain to make it in, the music is amazing.

Oh, I also think we'll get some new Mii Costumes, maybe Geno and some other SE characters.

Those are my predictions, however I'd also like to give some honorable mentions to King K.Rool, Dixie Kong, Shovel Knight and Shantae, who I'd also love to see added to the game, or at least the series, at some point.

I'm predicting Captain Toad and the inklings. Maybe Goku.

I'm not predicting or hyping anything. I know Cloud info will be there but I want everything else to be a total surprise so we can experience the same feeling again as when nobody knew Cloud was coming.

@bunchanumbers: I think they should save Inklings for Smash 5. They need to save some big character reveals for that game.

@bunchanumbers: I like the idea of Captain Toad, only problem is he can't jump. Besides the only way I could think of Captain Toad been able work to work effectively is as an Ice Climbers style character with Toad and Toadette working together, which Ice Climbers already proved is impossible on 3DS. I'm sure their is ways to make him work by himself, but I don't think it'd feel right.

Inkling, as I said in my first post, I strongly believe will be kept back for Smash 5. Inkling's are so popular that DLC is kinda too good for them. At the most we'll get a stage.

Goku, thinking about it, is probably a very likely character. Even though he didn't start in gaming, he's starred in a lot, and Bandi-Namco helped work on Smash and also have the exclusive rights to DBZ games. I could see this happening quite easily. Which IMO is sad, because I'd rather the game only focus on characters who are primarily related to video games.

If MS and Nintendo are playing nice, I think Banjo is the most likely outcome.

My predictions are,

Peppy Hare! Will have everyone go crazy if he is placed in instead of Wolf.

Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy Mii characters costumes.

Darth Vader. Would break the internet because of Star Wars hype, Disney and Nintendo i think are working together on stuff and this would build that bond.

But where not done, after everyone starts crying about Darth Vader and Cloud announcements, a song shall play...LET IT GO, let it go, Elsa has joined the battle, the Ice Princess has blitz to the scene. Bout to get cold blooded up in this beast.

For stages i predict something Zelda or Metriod related due to 2016 being the anniversary maybe. I like @spike6958's prediction of Splatoon stages, that a good guess.

But I wouldn't be shocked over a Shovel Knight announcement. I hope Toad is a character. Please... Hoping for 3-4 character announcements.

I strongly predict that all the "popular" characters that fans want in Smash Bros. will not in the ballot results. We will be surprised who will be on the winners.

Anyway, since the final Smash Bros. Direct will air when I am still at my job (2 p.m. PST) , I will try to avoid spoilers and watch the Direct when it reairs a few hours latter.

Believe it or not I thought about this. Captain Toad can have 2 modes. Backpack and without backpack. He starts the match with his backpack. Using Down Smash makes him take off his backpack. Without his backpack he is really light. Maybe like Pikachu light. He jumps way higher and is way faster than with backpack. With the backpack, he is super heavy, slow and really strong (thanks to the added weight).

His Up Smash could be the NSMB helicopter helmet. His forward Smash could be his helmet flash light which can stun enemies for a second, and his neutral smash could be he quick throws a turnip. In heavy mode, he pulls it out his backpack, and in light mode he pulls it out the ground.

His final Smash could be the gold dragon he rides in Captain Toad. He rides that thing around and it breathes fire and hits his enemies.

From the ballot I think the most likely character is King K Rool or the Inklings. The third random would most likely be Wolf. Stages would depend on the characters chosen, as they would probably be the home stages for them. Personally I'm still holding on to any shard of hope for Snake. Failing that I'd love to have Shovel Knight or the Inklings; hell King K Rool would be kickass.

@mesome713: Nah man. If their's a Star Fox character added other than Wolf, it's gotta be Krystal. It's true she's far from the most popular character in the series, but she'd make for a very unique Smash fighter (something Sakurai claimed he wanted) using her staff from SFA, a weapon type no other character uses, with her smash attacks using the staffs different magic attacks and various staff combos, there is a lot to work with. The only thing I can't decided on is what her final Smash could be, I had a few ideas but nothing seemed to fit perfectly.

I think its time for Toad, the inklings, and I wouldn't mind seeing some Yo-Kai

I'm glad Sakurai stopped with Bayonetta, my wallet couldn't handle anymore DLC.

I was disappointed. Corrin is unneeded. I can't believe Bayonetta "won." Give me Toad mother fuckers.

And now I have to wait 3 months for my prized Roy amiibo.

Another random Fire Emblem character. Yeah, because we clearly don't have enough of those... right? I mean they only make up half the damn roster at this point.

As for Bayonetta. Well I hated both her games, and largely because she's one of the worst characters I've ever come across in a video game. I flat out refuse to buy her. I also call BS on her placing top in Europe. Neither of her games sold well here, so why would people vote for a character from a game they never played? The only thing I can think of is a few perverted lonely guys kept spamming the ballot with votes for her so they can get off while playing Smash.

I also don't believe that the 4 characters who showed up before her in the US ballot would have been unreasonable. I mean let's be realistic, those characters where probably Banjo & Kazooie, who where perfectly possible if Nintendo was actually willing to ask because MS and Rare already said they could. Shovel Knight, who's getting an Amiibo and who'd developers have a good relationship with Nintendo. King K. Rool, who they own, but for some reason act like he doesn't exist. OK, fourth was probably a dumb pick like Goku or someone like that who wouldn't have fit, but the other three would have.

My final thoughts are If Cloud and Ryu could make it in, anyone could. These final two character announcements leave me believing that Sakurai was probably just getting so sick of working on the game, that he wanted to just be done with it and filled the roster with the two easiest characters he could. Another FE clone because he can just mash the others together, and someone from the ballot who wouldn't take much effort to get the rights to use.

I'm pretty sure that the top 3 of the top 4 were me voting for Toad, Captain Toad, and Toadette. I'm betting that K Rool for in there for 4.

You do realize, that just because MS said Nintendo could use Banjo, that doesn't mean it was free right? Obviously there would have been conditions to the characters use and Nintendo simply could have found the deal unfavorable. I mean MS has no reason to not try and push a deal that completely benefits them, they don't care about Nintendo fans getting what they want and they had nothing to lose. I'm sure it was a "my way or the highway" kind of deal for Banjo.

It was all shit and dumb choices, big shocker. Sakurai is a moron still. No Wolf. I retire from Smash. Maybe when Sakurai retires from Smash and or DIES I'll go back to it. Let Miyamoto make smash, then his franchise would get more character love, more F-Zero characters, more Starfox more Pikmin and better online that doesn't lag.

No, I think the absolute truth here, especially when it came to DLC, is that Sakurai listened more to the Japaneses audience than the western audience.

Mother is a huge series in Japan so Lucas came back. Fire Emblem is one of Nintendo's most popular series in Japan so Roy returned. Street Fighter is the biggest fighting game in Japan so Ryu gets in. Final Fantasy is still the biggest JRPG in Japan so Cloud gets in because he's the poster boy of the series. The only character who might have gotten in based on western games request is Mewtwo.

Then we get the two new characters, apparently the new Fire Emblem guy was the most voted character on the Smash Ballot in Japan, which is why he got in. As for Bayonetta, I really don't know how she got in, but I don't believe for a second she topped the ballot in EU, though I can see her placing somewhere in the top 10 in US (*though Nintendo will likely never share the full ballot results, so I guess we'll never know for sure). But I think it's moreso because Nintendo published the 2nd game and platinum is another Japaneses developer.

Cloud is fun to play as at least. I'm enjoying him a lot.

@spike6958:Anything is possible, but unlike Capcom and Square who are not direct competitors MS is. The former two would make a deal that is mutually beneficial for the use of their character on a platform, in which they don't care if you buy or not. MS making Smash better entices people to buy their competitors hardware, which would encourage them to go with a more one sided deal. In the end, Nintendo could put anyone they wanted in the ballot, but it was ultimately up to the dealings with the companies responsible for the characters on who would make the cut.

This direct was made for me. Bayonetta was my top vote as I mentioned several times on this board and I must have voted for her at least 20 times myself. All the people who think her game is just boobs and ass need to play the game before judging.

And although I don't like how many Fire Emblem characters are on here now (I would prefer to never have had Roy), Awakening made me an FE fan and I was already all-in on Fates. That one came out of left field and it's exactly as if Lucas hadn't been dropped from Melee.

The only way this could have gone better for me is if they also added Inklings, but I think Inklings for SSB5 would be a better fit since they can really change the mechanics of the engine to let them play very uniquely.
