anyone who has played it on the ps2 won't be able to tolerate this game, they have never liked Winning Eleven I understand that soccer is not as popular as Football here but couldn't they let a real fan of the sport review soccer games, Fifa sucks no one here likes Fifa Winning Eleven is a lot better, the new winning eleven is a shame to the series and should be banned in every country with soccer culture, go f**** yourself Konami know even the menus are for kids u pick the formations with the player heads but it's b****t u don't have half the options u had in the ps2

why doesn't it has support for Classic Controller or a GC one?

See, that's called an opinion.

MY opinion (as well as the opinion of most reviewers so far) is that they've changed the stale formula and finally made a game that feels "new". It actually made me enjoy soccer again. That's saying something.

Ok, maybe it's not for you, that's fine, but again, it's just an opinion.

Yep. It's a deep game, I'll give it that. But it think it's time they change some things up. Also, there is no possible way they could have done this game the traditional way on the Wii.

I'm from Canada, by the way.

they could have added gamecube or classic control compatibility, it's true that they had to make some changes but they took 90% of the gameplay, I would like to see the Wii version playing cross-console against a ps2, if I can't show this game to any of my friends we even have "Winning" night at the discos

Lisandro_v22 are you off your head!!!! this game is a step in the rite direction. TOTAL CONTROL!!! well when you are attacking and where im from attack is the best form off defence! the game looks just as good as the ps2 if not better. im a big pro evo fan and i think it is great what Konami is trying to do with the game.

The Graphics of the game do suck, they are the same as the ps2 ones but with a lot of more glitches.

100% correct if you meant the exact opposite

The game looks and plays wonderfully.

There's no need for a "regular" control scheme because the Wiimote and Chuck are so well implemented. You could have to change the entire game to add old controls and then you don't get an outstanding games at a bargain price.

This is called evolution, either get with it or jump ship. To say that PES 2008 is anything but one of the largest success stories when it comes to the sport in video game form is just plain wrong.

That's your opinion, better keep it for yourself. The game is revolutionary, many ones will like it, many others don't. BTW, I haven't played the game, but it looks very casual. I have to play it first, but I don't think it will be good.

Actually it's not casual. It requeries a lot of practice and strategy.

It's incredibly deep.

It's really a perfect game where you get out of it what you put into it.

The only problem with the game is that the new control scheme where you need to control more then ever might turn away gamers who think they already know how to play

I agree that as far as statistics and feedback on player and team performance, the game is lacking. But despite that little quibble, I love the game and consider it the best soccer game I've ever played (as well as one of my fav Wii games). Yes, I've played previous Winning Eleven's and most of them were good, though I think the last couple installments were getting a bit shaky. Pro Evo is colossal leap in the right direction.

I don't see any issues with the graphics either. Animations are spectacular and I've not noticed any slowdown. Sure the crowd looks like **** but that's true of most sports games.

I don't understand how you could experience the ease of total team control with this game and come off with a negative impression of it...I just...I just don't understand you... :)

I'm from Argentina too, I can't stand the little control u have, yes, u can make players run and control more than 1 player simultaniously but u can't even aim where to shoot, and the players look so bad that's even more difficult to point them

The players don't look bad, perhaps you should check the connections to your set

As far as shooting it comes down to the player and their skills which means you need to build your team accordingly, this is how the sport is really played. No longer can you take a garbage player and make him a lead scorer because you can expose the goalie's moves that are pre programmed in.

I I have this game waiting for me at home. I have played the new pro evo on xbox 360, ps2, and pc i can say the ps2 version is my favorite simply because of the way it plays proving that graphics are not everything. The wii version looks better than the others not graphically but gameplay looks amazing.

when i have been playing the other versions i end up getting angry at not being able to play the ball into space or that my ai controled players make no runs or the wrong ones. The wii version looks to solve this problem as people who love football know it is not just about on the ball but off the ball aswell and this is the elment brought into the wii version. My mate was quite dissapointed with his pro evo on ps2 as it has barely changed from previous games so that is a good time for a change its a step forward and although this version may not be perfect it deserves credit for taking a brave step and hopefully the glitches will be ironed out for the Wii's next version.

can't wait to play my copy when i get home.

Bought this game yesterday an while ive just had a quick blast on it i can say it feels pretty good. i was worried about the control system but feel it has been implemented really well. whats the point in buying a wii if you just wanna play the same old games with the same old controls?? yes the graphics aint amazing but you aint playing on a 360!! id rather they implemented the new control system on this version and then on the next concentrated on the graphics side of it. if you like footie and want a new way of playing it get pro evo for the wii!
