My DS is not working propely !! why ? there are a feew points

1. The L button is sometimes not working and I have to press it really hard ( I actually did a research and that happens to a lot of people and same as with me they didn't drop it or anything like that )

2. I have some problems with wireless conection ( not with the WiFi ) when I want to connect with friends there is communication error though we actually put or DSs near themselves.

3. My touch screen is not working propely because for example when I write something on PictoChat and I touch the screen with my stylus there is supposed to be a dot where I touched the screen but it actually appears about 8- 10 mm under where I touched the screen :( !! I hope you know what I mean in this one.

4. When I press a place near the + pad it clicks. I'm not sure what's wrong white this but did that happen to somebody else maybe in a diffrent part of the DS.

I think that's all. I bought my DS on E-Bay and I don't have any receipt or anything.

P.S. Did any of the things above happened to any other people ?

First, how long ago did you buy it? If it's recent, you can get a refund from the guy on Ebay (unless it didn't do that when you started to use it). Now to answer your questions: 1. Looks like you've already done some research. Keep following what information you've found for a possible fix. 2. Plug in the DS. Sometimes the battery doesn't give the wireless enough of a boost. I've had this problem and plugging into the wall helps. 3. There is a screen adjustment option. Boot up the DS without a game in and it's under the options in there. If this doesn't fix it, something else is wrong. 4. Sounds like something is loose. I'd say whoever had it before you dropped it a few times.

1) I had the same problem, and I scrubbed it with an old toothbrush. A whack of dirt came out and my L button worked fine. Guess it was just dirty after my rapidly clicking it on Metriod Prime: Hunters. 2) Maybe you're around something else with wireless or radioactive activity thats jamming the signal. For instance, a microwave, a wireless phone or anything like that. Maybe the guy on Ebay just jypped you. 3) Start up your DS. Don't start up a game though. Right in the bottom middle of your screen, there will be a settings option. Click it. Then go to the far right tab with a blue target in a suare box. Click that. Then go through the steps by hitting the tiny blue boxes that appear on the screen. That will fix it. If not, replace the screen and yes the Ebay seller did jyp you. 4) Is this a DS or a DS Lite? I've owned two DS Lites and played a couple original DS's. I've never heard of that.

How to fix #1 in about 1 second:

Stand your DS up, and turn it around (So the text on the back in upright). And blow (like in the N64 days :D) under the L button, into the console.

Works everytime.

2) Not really sure

3)Try recalaborating it (Menu > DS icon > the one all the way to the right > grid).

4) All DS lites do that.

This happened because you ate too much nuts, nuteater. =P.

Joking.

For the second problem, there must not be anything solid between the DS and you need to check if there is anything nearby that might be causing interference, that include some types of radios that use antennae (or radio-waves), TV antennaes, anything that uses/emits waves that can be blocking the wireless DS signal.

If that's not the case, then your ds can be a bit damaged and not working properly.

Same thing happened with my friend. Again, it's not the issue of the hardware itself. Or atleast I don't think in this case. Take the battery cover off, dust off the battery where the little gold strips are. Thats where the power is transfered from the battery to the DS(obviously). And do the same to the gold strips on the DS. Make sure its not scratched either. See, dirt or really anything could be blocking the transfer of the power and with every little movement, you could be moving the last contacting metalic out of place. Try it out. If it doesn't work, maybe a new battery would suit this dilemna.

Thanks all of you

1. I found a way to do this which always works with my ds I just hit the L button hard enough and be careful not to break it and it works :)

2. maybe all the reasons people say are true but I don't use the wireles comunication that much but it was a small problem anyway because I mostly use my WiFi connection

3. All of ye are right ! I was really stupid and I always wondered what the thing in thr options menu were there for well now I know but anyway thanks you all for help !!

4. I think I can do nothing with it so I'll just leave this 'click'in alone so it doesn't get any wose

Thank all of you

I for the problem with battery maybe the battery is just broken or something and now when you touch it it moves a bit and the DS turns off. Well if that's the problem you will have to get a new batter

...You'd think that you would do the smart thing and clean it out like these people siad instead of getting even closer to actually breaking the L button.

L button is hardware, doesn't Nintendo fix faulty hardware? Oh, do you need a receipt for that though?

Nope. You just call Nintendo and talk to customer service. Then they ask for the bar code number thing on the back of the DS.

If you have any technical skills, you could replace the case with one from ebay...It will fix the L button, and the clicking plastic...
