Problem with Zelda II (NES Ambasadors)

I've been playing Zelda II on the 3DS and I've noticed that when I leave a sidescrolling fighting area all the exp I'd earned is gone (and no I've not spent it on upgrades), I also get a lot of graphic errors (e.g A.I characters flashing and then vanishing).

Anyone else getting any problems with this game?

I noticed my exp vanishing also. It has been so long since I played the game I thought maybe there was some random reason for it, but it doesn't seem like this should be happening.

There's also a notice when you die saying "hold the reset button to prevent damage to save data" (or something similar), which I'm guessing is from the original NES version. You'd think they'd have removed that so as not to confuse people.

Yeah, I mean I know that some enemy's take exp from you when they damage you, but I left a battle screen with 25 exp and when I got into the next one I was back down to zero. I mean this game is hard enough without randomly losing all you exp for no reason.

My EXP doesn't vanish. I've leveled up a good 5 or 6 times so far. :| But the graphic errors like you mentioned have been occurring. Must have been a direct port.bbkkristian

Haven't noticed any lost experience points, except when you get a game over of course. I have noticed a few odd graphical glitches though. I guess Nintendo didn't perfect the emulator yet. Also just curious but has Nintendo ever said officially whether the whole "I am Error" thing was on purpose or if it was actually an error?
