So according to the NPD its one of the best selling DS games in NA.

If this is true, then why have the 2 sequels not been released outside of Japan? The game was a success and i'd love to play more :(

Might be because Professor Layton is selling so well that they don't want to compete with their own product by releasing the sequels here just yet.

They are not rumors cuz in fact they are true, and the second game has been out for a while :'(

I have no idea WHY they are making them for US, it sucks so much b.c this is one of my favorite games...

It time I guess O.o everything happens in time...

One of the possible reasons for that is because Nintendo seems to be still advertising and trying to sell copies of the game, so I guess they think they can squeeze some more bucks out of it before they release the sequels.

Which In my Opinion is STUPID. That wouldn't mean a decrease in sales, there is a higher propability that there would be in INCREASE in sales for new people getting interested and wanting the first one. I dont understand companies sometimes.. :(

Also, let's not forget that the game has only been out for about a year. Plus all of the puzzles-and there are hundreds-have to be translated or redone completely for North America. I'm just glad to know the game is selling well-It's one of my favorite DS games. I must say though, the new TV adds for the game make me quite angry.

I'd love to play the sequels too...but I haven't heard anything about translations being in the works =( ( I hope I'm poorly informed about this ). I rather miss hearing Professor Layton and his assistant's cute accents.

We all know this to be a good strategy for ninty, you only have to look at the amazing sales of Mario Kart DS two years on...
