I am a wii owner and like it over the PS3 and XBox.

What I am tired of is how every developer is making two versions of games. A 360/PS3 game and a Wii/PS2 version. Its almost like since the Wii isn't to the level of the other two consoles, they have made the choice to continue to support the PS2. Keeping it alive and killing the Wii. I think that if this wasn't the case the 3rd party support would be stronger and better games would result.

The Wii is better than the PS2 right, I say kill off my PS2 and get to making better Wii games, what do you say?

Yes, yes you could say that.

Until you realize that if that happened there wouldn't be a fast way for devs to get games to the Wii because no one planned on it being this successful and therefore most of it's library would be gone also.

Less games = less users

Less users = less console sales

Less console sales = less Wii influence on the generation

Less Wii Influence = less dev support

Less dev support = less games ultimately ending with Nintendo failing this generation by leaps and bounds.

If that sounds like a good chain of events then yes, you're right.

Only thing the Wii and PS2 have in common is mass casual appeal.

Yeah its annoying how developers are being half assed by porting over PS2 games w/ Wii controls. Instead of taking their time they are lazy about it and don't really put much effort into the game.

After seeing the Wii version of Ghostbusters in Game Informer I got pissed off, it's basically the same version of the PS2 but 4-player. While the 360/PS3 version shines and looks awesome, I'm not really bothered that Wii is inferior in the graphics department. But, come on! Developers could at least make the damn game from the ground up!

The only port I don't mind that is coming out for Wii is prolly just Okami cuz I never played that game and I thought that it would always be perfect for the Wii... I guess all we can do is hope that developers start taking the system more seriously and start to develop more exclusively then they have been lately...

Devs right now didn't have a choice. They made the mistake and wrote off the Wii. To help capitalize on the Wii's success they have tried to do anything possible to get games over to the Wii, unfortunately it comes in expense to the shovelware they started for the PS2 and are trying to get out before the PS2 really dies off. It is kind of funny that the Wii is 'keeping' the PS2 alive by the dev's misunderstanding that games can be put on both consoles. Gives more reason for PS2 users not to upgrade at all. So even though some of the Wii's games mark up with PS2 ports, the reverse will probably happen eventually (Wii games that get a PS2 port), thus keeping the PS2 alive. As long as the PS2 has a heart beat the PS3 will never need to be adopted except by the rich, Poor Sony... I just wish we would get to the Develop for the Wii first part already.

many people dont have the money itself to buy a ps3, thats why they are still continuing games on the PS2, because of all the new and great games and are simply too lazy to buy a Wii, have an alternative. The Ps2 still holds a significant resemblance of graphics to the Wii, so its easily console swapped over. sure the game seems completely different but really, its the same game we know and love.
