Ok, I admit, this question isn't brandnew or innovative! But I want to buy a handheld and I know - from a technical point of view - the psp is better. But does the psp also have more interesting and innovative games than the DS? My answer is: no! So I believe, I can have more fun with the cheaper handheld: the DS Lite. What do you think?

This probably belongs in the System Wars forum. Both handhelds have their merits. I bought a DS Lite, but may get a PSP this year (I'm hoping for a price drop though) as well.

Personally, I prefer the PSP.  The DS is not without its merits, though.  Get both, it's not too expensive.

I thought it was a question of which you should get. Instead it's something that should go in System Wars.

There are numerous differences between the PSP and DS Lite.  It really depends on what you want.  For media purposes, the PSP offers many features including MP3, video and homebrew.  The games, on the other hand, don't appeal to me as much as the DS.  Nintendo has been known for innovation and has an infinite list of direct platform games including Mario, Zelda, Metriod, etc.  There are homebrew adaptors for the DS and ways to get video and MP3 on there, but if you're looking for a handheld on the go, the DS is where it's at!

Homebrew isn't exactly a "feature" of the PSP. It's just one of those things hackers like doing.

Well, the "better games" statement is entirely opinionated.  Personally, I'd rather play Daxter, MGS, Syphon Filter, and Tekken than New! Super Mario Bros, Advanced Wars, Metroid Hunters, and Diddy Kong Racing.  As for the hardware statement, I have heard much more people complain about cracked hinges and such than a cracked screen on the PSP.  Besides, if you take good care of your consoles, hardware durability ceases to be an important factor of a console's quality.

Don`t ask this in System Wars, you`ll get Biased opinions, instead ask this agan in the PSP Forum, and you`ll see the good about the PSP, here has been told just a few things.

I`d go for the PSP because i like all it offers and i make use of it, you`ll be entertained in a wider range of activities with the PSP, not just games.

But it`s up to you and the size of your wallet

well... the DS is selling overway better than the PSP....its more innovative, touch-screen, funny games.........and costs 130 USD.....the PSP has alot of media features, video, music, good games like MGS, CoD, Oblivion coming to it, some PS2 ports....but it costs 200 USD ( core package )...for 50 bucks more you can get a Wii............. i am also debating wich one to get....DS = 130 USD, Good Games, in-coming web broswer, in-coming good games, Picto-Chat :P, built in micro-phone PSP = 200 USD, Also some good games, media features.....but i think it lacks of multiplayer enjoymnet has the DS does, longer loading times, great graphics..... i think almost everybody owns a ipod...mp3 player...so thats a feature that you dont need on the psp...movies ?? who would like to see the same movie over and over and over...watching anything else over and over...those are great features...but...they are not necessary... i think im gonna get a DS, since its cheaper, some good features, good mp :)
