How is the plot, storyline and character development. Is it as good as the original FF Tactics for PS1, or even a little better that the original FFTA? Is it still juvenile in nature?

First off, it's not FFT. I know people can't help themselves by starting an obvious, yet ignorant, debate on this.

It still has a simple and light-hearted story like FFTA, it isn't going to make anyone cry from what I can predict and have seen so far. I can't really tell you about character development, but it seems you slowly learn about people as the game goes on, instead of knowing almost everything you need to know right off the bat like in FFTA. The Bazaar system is a nice addition and allows for people to work for their equipment and job changes, unlike FFTA that pretty much gave you everything as time passes.

If you're interested, I don't want to ruin it for you. I personally think it's better than FFTA, and that is a game I easily spend 500+ hours on since originally purchasing it. I also enjoyed FFT, and I can honestly say I like them all, but FFT and FFTA/A2 only share a few similarities, but that is fine.

If all else fails, rent it or wait until more information is written up on it.

(That is, if you don't have it. This post is geared towards this.)

Thanks for the info. In not slagging on FFTA, even if I sound like I am. FF Tactics (original) has one of the most enthralling plots in a video game, and alot of adult themes (incest, betrayal, war, blood, demons, church VS. state.) and it all takes place in Ivalice.

FFTA also takes place in Ivalice, but is much more light hearted affair, and not quite as engaging story wise.

I love the genre (SRPG) but Im hoping FFTA2 is a mix of the two original games. Im hoping....

It's not. Follows along the same lines of FFTA with a light hearted story. Still fun, but if you are looking for something as to the original, you'll just be disappointed.

first of all, LOL you play CS 1.6 and Diablo 2?

both of those games are stupid.

anyway it sounds like youre pretty knowledgable about FFTA2.. but seriously, lighten up. the man's just asking a few questions. If you really think that hes just a forum troll, shouldnt you just ignore him completely?

one of the rules of this board is not to slander anyone

Get the game, I have it and I can't stop playing it.The battles take a while but they are fun, and when you have fully grown characters its even more fun. first thing to do is recruit characters with names that you like. that can take some time. but if names dont bother you, you're good to go.

simple and lighthearted? I disagree. there's actually some good life advice in this game. ...You don't want to ruin it for him? then be a little bit more polite. ...."Rent it or wait until more information is written up on it" Wow, I can't believe you just said that.

Personally, I found FFTA2 to be a little harder than FFTA (on hard), and a lot more interesting. Still a far shot off from the original, but there are some good challenges in this game, just a little less customization than I would have liked (limitations probably due to the system and by no fault of the designer). As far as SRPGs, there are a couple better ones on the market. My recommendation is to get the game, but definitely play it on hard if you are familiar with the older games. Kind of short too.

i think ffta2 is a much better game than ffta and i never played the ps1 version. i dont like how you get weapons, using the bazaar system to do so, but it is only a small problem

FFTA2 is better than FFta....but somehow I think FFT is the best one. However the system of FFTA2 is the most friendly one.

Somehow FFT (PSX) is far superior to FFTA and FFTA2, I think both those games are a tad more "childish" than the mature themes and overtones of FFT.
