Needless to say, the game looks amazing and worth every penny but... I really don't feel like playing through MP1 and MP2 first, even though I plan on playing them eventually. I'm actually a little more than halfway through MP1. The questio is..should I wait to play MP3 and play MP1 and MP2, or should I just skip to MP3 for now and play the other two later??? Any thoughts??? thanks in advance!
I'm not sure if this is a question on whether or not you'll be missing info about whats going on in the 3rd one, but I don't think it should matter. I say buy 'em all at once, if you can, but if you can't and really want to play it (like me) just buy the 3rd.
I recommend finishing metroid prime 1 for the sole reason that it was an awsom game when released and still now, and it will make the storyline easier to understand in MP3. MP2 was good as well but you don't need to play it to understand the story at all.

Either way, I don't think that you really need the other two for the story parts, as long as you know generally who the Pirates are and what Phazon is. Other than that, definitely play through the other two eventually but I don't see you NEEDING to play them before 3.

Yes you should play through them. They are two of the best games of all time and were personally some of my greatest gaming experiences ever. Also they will get you you ready and even more hyped up for MP3.
Where do you go to find out anything about anything? Wikipedia. It's a great way to learn about previous games as they usually go through the whole plot as well as the characters and and background information.
thnx guys for all the advice...i'll think i'll just skim through wikipedia for the plot of the other two games and skip to 3; but i'll still play through the other games for sure. it's just that i'm so hyped up for MP3 that I can't possibly wait to play it.
