hey all - I recently got my DS along with Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - However i have finished it.\

I was wondering how long New Super Mario Bros would last me - or if getting mario Kart DS would be a better choice? as I plan to get one of these - then no more DS games untill the Final Fantasty IV remake comes out - or the new advance wars, whichever is first.

What do you guys think? how many hours should each last me. BTW I do have online capabilites.

Thanks for any advice guys - caio.

I got NSMB when it came out, and it took me about a month and a half to finish the game 100%. After i finished it, i never really played it again, unless my friends and i wanted to play the minigames. But, there are also a lot of mini games to play with others (not on wi-fi, only people within, something around 30 feet, or how many feet a ds can communicate with another, without losing the signal). NSMB also has great looking graphics.

NSMB took me 4 hour's to beat 100% (No action reply/cheats/hacks used)

Mario kart DS is boron I say if you want good Wi-Fi (IF your mom let's you have T for teen games)

go for Bleach:The Blade of Fate

ive sort of narrowed it down to these two choices - 4 hours you say? that it ludocrisly short. If thats true then il get mario kart. How long did it take some other people?

Dont let the length of NSMB scare you, because it's awesome. My brothers and I still play the multi all the time, and I find the single player stuff engaging enough to pick up from time to time.

Still, I would say go with Mario Kart, because it's simply awesome. My personal favorite Mario Kart game.

I didn't really like New Super Mario Bros. because it was so incredibly short. I mean 5 hours just to beat the game once really isn't enough for me.

Err that is Wi-Fi. You mean there's no online feature.

Both (in my oppinion) are must own DS games. Both are amazing. New SMB is great and replay is great thanks to hyper multiplayer matches that'll get you hookked. Mario Kart DS is fun Wi-Fi is great and well it is the best Mario Kart. Get Mario Kart DS first then get New SMB.

No, Wi-Fi is pretty much the DS's online. It allows you to play with anyone from around the world. What he's talking about is called "Wireless Play" which is pretty much playing with whoever is 30 feet away from you, except, without all the wireless router set-ups and all that.

NSMB rocked but alas, it was very short. i also completed it 100% in just over 6 hours. Mario Kart lasts forever though. i play it with my friends ALL the time. It has only two problems if you ask me, the CPU are pretty wimpy (once you play a bunch they really dont even stand a chance) and although there are a lot of carts, you dont see much variety on wifi. but if youve got a good groupd of friends to play with, its a blast.

so what im saying is, out of the two, get Mario Kart DS

New Super Mario Bros. is a great game, but unless you have friends with DS's, the game will bepretty much useless after you beat it. Mario Kart DS has a lot of replay value because it's a wi-fi game. It's a fun game, too.

No, that's just a miscomception that seems to be plaguing DS users. Put in simple words, WI-FI is a techonlogy of radio commucation based on the IEEE 802.11 standarnd. It's diferent from Nintendo WFC wich is an online service run by Nintendo for online play. The handheld don't connect to another by magic. Put in even simpler words, WI-FI works like Ethernet, only wireless and crapier. You use WI-FI to connect to another handheld locally and remotely granted you have access to wireless network connected to and ISP. And that's where WFC comes.

Good choice. NSMB is an overrated game that is not only short, but easy and uninspired despite how much of a throw back its supposed to be to the original games.

Oh, I see! Thank you for pointing that out, I think I have a much better understanding of the whole Wi-Fi situation now! ^_^
