question about super mario 64

I believe it does.  Is the L button the left bumper?

the problem is that the L button will press down but either nothing happens or it gets stuck and repeatedly pushes the button

I may try opening it up and looking and by the way it is a game-shark controller

I'm pretty sure the L button is the butt-slam, but your in luck, because the Z button does the same thing. 

If I am wrong, then it switches between lakitu camera and mario camera, so its pretty much not important for gameplay.

I dont know what it does, and i've been playing this game virtualy non-stop since I got it a couple of days ago, so you can assume that it is not important.

Generaly on N64 games the L button was not important as generaly you wouldnt hold it in a position that it could be used from.

anything that it can do, you can do with other buttons
