I'm getting a wii soon but i havea question.

How do I put it online and does it cost anything?

You just have to havea wireless router with dsl internet and its free

Does not cost anything. It's wireless BTW, and you can just set it up from the menu.

or you could get a wii LAN adaptor if your wii is close to your computer, it is very fast and cheaper than a wi-fi adaptor if you don't have a router

I realize that you are on dial-up, but if you let it buffer and wait, here is a VIDEO showing you how to use dial-up for the Wii; or other systems for that matter. This is basically to shop and download the WiiWare channels. I would not suggest trying to play on-line, it would be extremely lagging if you could even connect for an on-line match.

If you have slow dial-up, then online gaming isn't really an option...
