question/problem on sdhc 8gb card

will a sandisk ultra 2 card work on the wii?

i just got a 8gb card and it will not work, saying that the device inserted in the sd card slot cant be used etc.. i also formatted it to FAT file format. any idea why it is not working? is anyone else using the same exact card and got it to work? i thought wii could support sd cards more than 2gb in size
