Quick question about Pokemon

Hi. I'm new to the DS and the last nintendo system I had was the GBC. I'm looking to buy one of the pokemon versions, but I have a pretty simple question about it. Assuming that I use an Action Replay to get all of the event pokemon, is it actually possible to fill the National Dex? In other words can I actually have all of the pokemon ever through trading and things of the like? Having not played since Gold and Silver I am still a huge fan of the classics AKA Charizard, Venasaur, Blastoise, etc...

Also, should I bother to get either D or P, or should I keep myself busy with other games until Platinum comes out?

1st wait for platinum- i got stuck with diamond cause i din't know they were making a new one

2nd you can get all the event pokemon through action replay but if you just use the code that completes the national dex you won't have to get the unless you really want them(for wi-fi trading purposes).

well sorta someof em dont display the location like example: snorlax has to be gained in leaf green and some other pokemons like ditto so if you dont have action replay you gotta buy it

I use action replay to fill the sappihire and ruby ones :)

asuprise in pokemon dimond aparently a ponyta can lern solar beam . no joke my firend has a rabadash with solar beam haha take that water pokemon fire rules
