I know I just wanted to know if it was better for the Wii to turn it all the way off.

It's better to turn it off all the way, since it might overheat with wiiconnect24, and it aint that much of an online service, so I turn mine off all the way

Nintendo has never stated it was an issue and i've always had it on with no problems and I got mine Dec. 06. I don't think it's a problem and I don't think anyone has any proof it's bad for your Wii.

Just hold down the power button until the light turns red.

They call it WiiConnect24 for a reason, it's supposed to be on 24 hours out of the day, seven days a week....it's supposed to be on all the time. I've had mine since launch and have never turned it off, it works fine.

There's nothing better than waking up and seeing that blue light glow. Keep it on, it's not going to hurt anything.

Well, I for one would rather save electricity, regardless of how much it uses, and also, I've had friends whose wii's died because of this issue

The only time a Wii should overheat is either if it's defective or is failed to be maintained properly (and possibly if it's kept in too confined a space... in this respect many entertainment centers are inappropriate for modern electronics). Either way, it would fail eventually regardless of whether or not you use WC24.
