After being blown away by Resident Evil 4 on the Wii and how well the gameplay is implemented, I'm a bit spurred that there will be no RE5 on the Wii (for now anyway, we may get a graphically dumbed down version somewhere down the road) and I can't help but wonder if we'll get any more RE4 style gameplay on the Wii, maybe in the form of remakes of old games, I don't see why they couldn't recycle the RE4 engine and make a compilation of the first 3 RE games, some new voice acting would definitely be in question but otherwise I think it would be a great way for Capcom to make some money and to keep Wii fans happy for a while, thoughts?

If they do appear on the Wii I would just want them to be straight remakes. I don't want Capcom to ruin the previous games by making them play like RE4, which didn't even resemble an RE game in the first place.

Ditto Silent-hal, I hated RE4's gameplay as you knew what was in front of you as compared to RE Remake's camera angles where you didn't know where the zombie was until you walked closer around a corner.

Resident Evil:Code Veronica would be good if it was remade like RE1/ReMake.

Yeah that would be great, no more stiff Claire. Also bring back Peter Oldring as Alfred Ashford nobody can pull off the voice job he did for Alfred.

thats a great idea.

however all the resident evil games wouldnt work as well with resident evil 4 controls becasue the zombies would be so slow :|

I think if they sped up the enemies just ever so slightly, and still gave you as much ammo as they did in the originals. I do agree with the horror factor though, they didn't use the scare tactic very well in RE4, they could have still used the narrow corridor enemy smashes through the window or wall technique, the camera angle shouldn't hurt scare tactics, if anything it could increase it with enemies coming up behind you

I think 3 would work the best with RE4 gameplay, simply because of its context ( streets have been overrun by Zombies), this means that they could add more zombies in and the over shoulder angle would increase the no escape feel of the game, especially on the later parts in the city when the zombies become reckless. Another great part would be the Nemesis sequences of course, now that you cant see whts behind you youll only be able to hear him approaching from behind during a chase, taht could be really tense.
