RE Wiimakes on the way?

Masachika Kawata has expressed interest in remaking other Resident evil titles for the Wii in RE4Wii style, also RE5 could still go to Wii.

"Q: We gave Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition an excellent score. Why isn't Capcom bringing RE5 to Wii? As we seen with that game, impressive graphics can be done on that platform as well.

A: Decisions surrounding the RE5 project were taken a long time ago and they needed to choose quickly on which platform they wanted to develop it. They haven't decided if they will port RE5 on Wii yet. So in a way RE4 and Chronicles will help us to test the market, to see if developing this genre on this plateform is interesting. The decision is not made yet."


More on RE:UC : They're still looking into how they could use other Wiimote functionalities or the Nunchuck in the game. It will be more than just a simple light-gun game,

im getting tired of all these ports getting dumped on the Wii. Preety soon developers will have nothing else left to port. If developers are worried that they have to compete with Nintendo's first party titles, then maybe they should start giving us quality products and quit complaining Crystal-Rush

I don't mind ports if they are good (like RE4)

but they wouldnt be ports so stop complaining :/ they are REMAKES of classic games with a new gameplay style...

Anyways.. i REALLY hope this is true.. ive said all along they should have remade 2 and 3.. though i LOVE the old style RE... though playing through older RE's in RE4 style would be SWEET :P

Excuse some of the wording and spelling in the first post, it's a very rough translation of a French interview. And I called you all sheep because I thought I posted this on system wars :) sorry.

To sum up, RE4 Wii edition and Chronicles is a test to see if there is a market for RE games on Wii, and there is as RE4 is selling very well. So Wii will probably get RE5, and Wiimakes of RE1,2,3 could be in the pipeline, but they would have to remake the games to be longer as you would sail through them in no time with the RE4 engine in place.

if they do port RE:5 to the wii i'll be glad cause usually when they port games they add new content ^_^ and i am a die hard RE fan

That said, I WILL snag any REmakes that hit shelves if they are made completely from the ground up. Afterall, I hated the old RE games because of the camera angles. They would be new to me.

They should work back through 3 towards 0 or 1. I say this for no reason other than we've alreadyt seen a remake of RE1 recently. also, RE4 converts would probably recognize Leon and be coaxed. He debuted in 3 right? I could be wrong on that...

My bad. I agree with you on the 1 disc thing, but I doubt it would happen cuz:

1. Developers love $$$

2. with updated graphics and controls I doubt they would all fit on one Wii Disc. Maybe a double disc set though...

Well, i have only played RE4, and i just bought RE0 for the Cube (haven't played it yet). So, this would be cool IMO, but i guess the purists would hate it.

I have an idea, how about they remake RE0 and RE1 into one game and sell it on one disk, then remake RE2 and RE3 into one game and sell it on one disk.

ANNNND, people everyone is forgetting about the OUTBREAK series. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to revive those games.

Not true im a very very pure RE fan I played RE before it was well known and had that horrible PS1 big box art. I would love to see them remake these games, but the thing I would hate are Fake resident evil fans who played only part 4 and say the others suck, but never played them at all. I hope if these remakes do come out they dont make alot of those type of fans. Because to be honest you can never beat a classic and the old RE games are just that. Also they better keep the horror in these remakes because RE4 droped the ball on that and I dont want the classic to get ruind.

Hard to say. I was in Gamestop yesterday and saw RE4 Wii Edition for $27 used, which makes me think demand might be a little low for it since they rip people off so hard.Generic_Dude

Proboly RE:UC will turn that around since its a brand new game.

i'm not fake for saying that the original three were garbage because of the controls. they were well done and would have been amazing if control was terrible. and four was the best, hands down.

Thats your opinion buddy RE4 wasint really huge tome since it lacked fear. How much did you play of the old ones? if you read what i wrote i said which was "who played only part 4 and say the others suck, but never played them at all" meaning if younever played an old RE game and just saw gameplay and said it sucks your a fake fan, but if you actually put time into them but still say it sucks thats your own gamer opinion.
