I already have Resident Evil on the GameCube. Is it worth getting the game for the Wii, or is there no difference at all? Nothing new or added or a bonus of the sort?

Yea, RE is worth getting on Wii. It has better controls, but if you perfer the old control scheme you can use a classic controller or GCN controller. And there is more content than that of the GCN version. It's also only $20, so thats another plus.

It has the extras from the PS2 version and Wii controls. It's a better game overall.

More content? You mean more extras to unlock? Bonus levels? What do you mean?

Yeah, I meant Archives. I don't know why people are talking about RE4. I didn't say RE4, I said RE.

I don't know much about the Archives versions coming out, but I am interested in them since I've never played Zero and I rather enjoyed the Gamecube remake of the first RE game.
Umbrella Chronicles is a game worth getting, it may not be a true blue RE game in terms of wandering around and finding items, or a generalrun and gunfest like 4 and 5, but it is a lot of fun and has an acceptable challenge which requires the player to memorise enemy patterns so that you can improve and get better at survival.

I'm already very interested in the upcoming Darkside Chronicles while hoping to see 2, 3 and Code get the Archive remake treatment.

I have only played 4 and 5 so hopefully the Resident Evil Archives will have other games I haven't played like 2,3 and Code Veronica.

I just bought RE: Umbrella Chronicles and I'm enjoying it a lot. I am going to buy RE 4 Wii Edition sometime soon, hopefully.

It's only worth it if you've never played it before, but since you already played it and own it then there is no reason to buy this version unless you don't want to change discs anymore.

I totally agree. The great thing about UC is how legitimate of a Resident Evil STORY and game it really is. There's a lot of content in that game and it feels like an RE game because of it. Honestly because of how good it was I credit it with being the reason I have absolute faith in Dead Space.

Basically it feels like the hate for Chronicles is that it wasn't a generic FPS/TPS shooter, you know the usual 'hardcore' games that people think will make them adults over night. Also there were complaints from so-called 'hard core' RE fans that the game wasn't a true RE game.
Thing is there hasn't been that many survival horrors like the older RE games were for a while now, survival horror without big guns and lots of explosions just aren't seen as profitable. This Dead Space is said to be good, but to me it just looks like yet another FPS game on a console clogged with the things.

Chronicles is fun because it's RE in a very arcade like feel, it might not be like the older RE games, but it's guilty fun and has a great challenge which really does test the player's reflexes when it comes to getting a good shot.
I miss the old survival horrors though, Fatal Frame/Project Zero, Silent Hill 1 and the older RE games were a lot of fun and current systems have the potential to relaly deliver some great survival horror if developers relaly made an effort.

I'm a little curious about this one myself. I'm waiting for the reviews to come out, although since I still have the GameCube version I don't foresee buying it again.
