I was wondering if the Punisher or Red9 is better. Looking at the stats, the Punisher has less fire power than the regular handgun, yet it says it can shoot through to enemies. The Red9 is stronger but slower at reloading/firing (i upgraded it though). Should i sell the Punisher (already sold regular handgun)?

OK, new question. WHich is better, Blacktail, or Red9?

I like the Red9 better (once upgraded). Yeah, I sold both my regular handgun and Punisher and I'm fine with the REd9.

It seems to me like, starting from worst to best, the regular is the worst, then punisher then Red9?

MORE SPOILERS

Another Question. I just got to the part where you fight el gigante (my guess is it is basically giant in spanish), and i want to know what would have happened if you killed the dog (is it possible to kill it. by that i mean does it let you?) and if the fight was harder because it didnt come help. Thanks for the help.

You cant kill the dog, but if you dont set it free it wont distract gigante and you have to deal with it constantly attacking. Also I stuck with the default 9mm and upgraded it completely.

Headshots are more frequent with the original 9mm handgun if you upgrade it fully.

I use the Red9 the whole game just because of it sweet reload animation. And the fact that I found it alot easier to get headshots with it.

Not including the magnums i have to say RED9 all the way... already on my 4th way through the game fully upgraded with stock it cant be beat 6.5 firepower!! .... the stock shotgun is 5.0 firepower. And yes ive tried all guns fully upgrade red9 w/stock very accurate ...I dont know why the Gc power is 5.0 exclusive* .... but Wii is 6.5 power* ... ahhh k time to unlock the handcannon

A lot of pros would argue that the standard handgun is actually the best. Why? it's exclusive upgrade increases its chance of getting critical heashots. By a lot. I wouldn't keep it on your first playthrough though.

In terms of better, it all comes down to personal preference.

If u're good with headshots, stick with the fully upgraded handgun.

If u want firepower and would want to waste room in ur inventory, get the red 9.

i personally prefer the handgun, it doesn't take up alot of space, and the upgrades aren't expensive as the other guns.

Exclusive Handgun is the best pistol in the game in terms of pure kill rate due to the headshots. The Red9 is my favourite pistol because of the great feel and animations, but it's exclusive firepower pretty much kills the need to do anything else. Don't use it if you want a challenge.

I'm playing through the game for the first time right now, on Chapter 3-2 and I finally gave in and purchased a Rifle. OMG, easy kills out the wazoo. That rifle drops guys in one shot. I had been selling all of the rifle ammo and getting upgrades to the other guns instead. This doesn't answer your question, but if like me, you skipped the rifle, do yourself a favor and pick it up.

A headshot has a set chance to instantly kill an enemy by popping their head off. The Exclusive Handgun causes instant kill headshot five times more than any other weapon.

The thing about a headshot most don't understand is that unless you have a bullet that reflects inside the skull most people will survive the headshot since the bullet more often then not hits the face and not the headbone. It just goes on through the fleshy parts of the mouth. Can cause a person to black out from pain and be incapticated for quite a while. More powerfull bullets have a better chance of going through. Hitman for upclose work prefer a .22 caliber pistol because the entry wound is incredibly small as well as no exit wound and the bullet bounces around inside the brain case turning the brain into mush. A guy that gets whacked with a .22 bullet you could remove the body quite easily just drape it over your shoulder and pretend like you are taking a drunk friend home. Very little blood.

The parasites alter the bodies of the villegers making their heads well unstable you will see later on that nasty surprise the villagers can do that will likely wipe you out the first time. Shotgun or grenade time is vital.

You should have used the rifle when you first meet the merchant. Can make some parts much easier if you get in a high up position. Also you can draw them to you through a narrow passage a lot of times making it easy to mow down a group or use a grenade instead of the villagers coming at you from multiple ways. Much easier to defend yourself plus they sometimes will not go up the ladder or if they try to just plink them or use a grenade.

same here. more powerful red9 means fewer bullets used. and you need to conserve them, or you'll be fighting krauser with only your knife (like i did, and still beat him!)

You know alot about killing. Are YOU a hitman??? Just joking, anyway, what is this exclusive stuff you guys keep talking about, and does anybody have the rpg rocket launcher thing? Are you able to find ammo for it, and is it worth the 30,000?

Exclusive* is the last upgrade you can get after you powerup that weapon to the maximum ... 30,000 rocket launcher 1 shot thats it. Unless you pass the game once... then the infinite Rocket launcher will be available ......... for 1,000,000 pesetas

Yeah, I found that out just today in Chapter 3-2. I never used a rifle until that point. It's my first time to play the game, and I have always chosen the upgrades over purchasing a new weapon. In retrospect, that's not exactly the 'best' call.

RPG is a rocket propelled grenade. Meaning it is great against a clumped group or a huge powerfull foe like El Gigante. Long reload time very huge so it takes a lot of room meaning you got to sacriface carry space. Don't use it on close foes because the blast radius would get you. Works pretty much like any game RPG.

If you want lots of money smash every barrel box you see with your knife. May have to aim with the joystick to get the ones lower then your default slashing height.

Also buy the treasure map and keep a look out for flashing stuff those are often jewels. Certain lights when shot will also drop jewels. Certain jewels such as gemstones fit into some treasures. Beerstein and Mask should be kept and once you got all three apporiate jewels in them sell to the merchant for a buttload of cash.

The farmhouse where you and the former cop are defending at night with Ashley in the closet is one tough situation. Wish there was a save point right before the bridge activating that part.

yes you can. it is the dog that you free in the very beginning of the game from the bear trap. rather than free it, you can shoot it.

and yes, the boss fight is much harder!

A bullet to the head is fatal 99 percent of the time. People who survive a shot inside the skull are lucky beyond belief and these people do exist. But a bullet does not have to bounce inside the skull of a person to kill most of the time, the rifling alone causes bullets to spin causing disproportionate damage to the size of a projectile, just because theres no exit wound doesn't mean theres a cleanly lodged bullet in someone. Some guns are designed to have bullets tumble from the barrel making things even worse. Theres too many variables involved to make the claim poeple

habitually survive gun shots to the head.

Face shots are quite different then a shot to the braincase. Most reports of gunshots to the head the wound is to the brain case areanot mouth part. Quite a few suicides when someone aimed the gun through the jaw the bullet didn't go through the brain case it went out the fleshy parts of the mouth.

If you want death for certain a reflecting bullet inside the braincase or the ribcage is the way to go. There are a lot of factors involved true but FBI and other experts will tell you a .22 caliber is the weapon of choice for professional hitmen for the reasons I listed. People think a handcannon is what to use to take somebody out. Your more likely to survive a .44 hit to the chest then a .22 caliber. Since the .44 will go through you.

[QUOTE="valdarez"]I don't quite understand how the head shots work myself. I hit them alot in the head, but they just grab their face in pain and keep on coming.DrummerDude1010

You know alot about killing. Are YOU a hitman??? Just joking, anyway, what is this exclusive stuff you guys keep talking about, and does anybody have the rpg rocket launcher thing? Are you able to find ammo for it, and is it worth the 30,000?

Its a one shot weapon. I bought one and used it on El Gigante. Took him out in one hit.

I'm not sure whether the blacktail is better than the Red9 or not. I always just used the Red9.

That's a matter of opinion, but everyone in this thread just said Red9...

If you like speed and need to move a bunch and get super close to the zombies then go with the blacktail because it emphasis is speed and clip size and offers a pretty decent punch. If you like to use chokepoints and like to blow up heads and really want something that lets people know you mean business, then the red9 has about twice as much power as the blacktail when fully upgraded.

It's personal preference. I'm going to go with the red9, I think. I also tend to use my knife a lot more than anyone I know. One shot to the legs while they're running puts them face forward in the dirty, then just walk up and slash away. If you keep a steady pace, even the ones who start to get up are dropped back down from a knife swing to the legs.

It's all personal preference. Most people seem to like power, and the red9 has that in large amounts.

It all becomes irrelevent when you get the locked guns, but until then get anything that shoots and you should do fine.

The original Handgun is the best, once fully upgraded.

Head asplodies galore due to it's final upgrade, and (before that) anyways, you use any handgun for knee-capping, not for damage.
