Hi everyone, I'm really starting to appreciate the battery life that my Original DS still has (it's
almost 4 years old) in comparision to the battery usage when I use my IPOD Touch to play games. There
was a short period of time that I was not utilizing the DS much but now that I realize the DS gives me
better battery usage I've been back to playing my DS games again. I realize that battery life is better with
the DS because it is only made to be able to play games and not for other multi media functions that can
drain the battery. The battery life is the reason that I will not be purchasing a DSI. I've always appreciated
that Nintendo has felt that gaming is the most important thing whether it be in their consoles or handhelds (though
with the new DSI it looks like Nintendo is trying to compete with the PSP). Anyone else glad for the battery life of their
DS?

If you appreciate the DS Phat's battery life, I imagine you'll love the DS Lite's battery life. :D

I love it too. I only charge my DS 4 times a week(7 days). And I use it a lot too. :)

The DS lite battery life is great i've had my DS since November 06 and I need to charge it around once a week depening on game play. Once a week means I have been playing it a few hours a day every day. Then I have my PSP... I dont think I switch the d*mn thing off properly, I have it fully charged... play it for 30 mins turn it off WIFI and power and still I go to play it the next day and its got no power in it at all. DS battery FTW indeed.

Maybe it time for new PSP battery. And how do you NOT "turn the d*mn thing off properly"?

I still have my PHAT and its original battery. I play about 2-3 hours a day and only charge about once a week. I prefer the PHAT simply because it's sturdier. The lite always seemed a bit flimsy. But I like the fact that both the PHAT and the Lite have the extra space for the GBA games. If the Phat ever breaks I would probably buy a Lite over a DSi.

i just love the battery life in my DS. You can play almost like an entire day before the battery die and you need to charge it again. In contrast with my ipod, the ds battery is really great ;)

WHAT I am worried about with the DS is that it will stop charging after awhile and you have to buy a new one. But I heard you can buy new rechargable battery from somewhere.

I have a old IPOD and a Mp3 player that both I have to replace cause the battery is hard to replace and won't charge anymore. I am gonna buy a IPOD touch now. Then I can play games on that or download movies off Itunes.

Also I own a Gameboy Pocket. It eats TRIPLE A batteries like crazy. TOo bad they didn't use the Double A but then it wouldn't be a pocket game. But the GBA SP is smaller and even the Micro are smaller, but those won't play the older games.

Yeah the battery life is extremely long compared to my psp, especially when the brightness setting is lowest.
